I have been banned for 14 days.

It's about time. I've been toxic for the past several months getting repeated mutes for x amount of games but nothing else has come up. Yes, I've been purposely doing this to see how the system works. And it's not efficient at all. Mute once, if repeat, suspend account. Don't mute several times over a few months. Need to be stricter on the punishment for toxicity. It's not okay.

tl;dr: Took wayyyy too long to suspend my account. Need to be swifter with punishments. Mute once, if repeat, then suspend account for x amount of days.

Everyone has complete control over verbal toxicity. Players can mute. It's simple and fast. Players, however, do not have control over a player's action during pre-game/ in-game.

Riot should focus on these Gameplay Behavior:

  • Feeding
    • Intentionally Feeding
    • Boosted players in high ELO
    • Grieving
  • Trolling
  • Champ Select Players
    • Holding people hostage in champ select
    • Forcing players to Dodge
  • AFK
    • Rage Quit
    • Players who don't have time for a ranked game, but decides to play anyways.
    • Players who sit in fountain and move around to dodge the afk check.
    • Players who type nonstop and don't focus on the game.
    • High Ping
  • De-ranking
    • Sly players who don't feed, but purposely lose game.
  • Boosting
    • Account Sharing
    • Inexperienced players in higher ELO
  • Learning a new Champion in Ranked

Plot twist:

Every single troll, AFKer, feeder, and toxic player in this game is really someone on an alternate account trying to see how long they can do it under the current system until they get away with it.

Perhaps people just didn't report you?

I hear everyone advocating for a more strict policy on bans. I think you are all f'in hypocrites. Be careful what you wish for because it might come true.

i want you to think long and hard about it

How much is you're account worth? $200-300? Are you telling me you are a perfect little angel and never get pissed off at the most infuriating game on the planet?

lets say YOU get banned, how would you feel about losing a $300 account?

This is about the same logic as someone

Doing several online E-scams and seeing how long it takes before the police knock on their door

but none the less, thumbs up?

I don't see how this helps anyone. You were toxic, effecting other people's experience in game to, at the least, add clarity to your understanding of the punishment system? It sounds helpful, but you've ruined several people's game experience in process.

I second nomination for even less tolerance for confirmed cases of toxicity

I came to the board to say the same thing. I am a slightly toxic player, but I've been playing for 5 years and never gotten a ban. The thing is, i NEVER afk, or feed intentionally, or do any shenanigans in ranked. Yet I am matched time and time again with players who afk, feed, or take support then don't go to lane or w/e. Surprise surprise, placements come around, and 25% of my games have an AFK.

Like, what? A quarter of those games are statistically worthless for determining MMR? I wonder how I ended up in low bronze /s

I believe the solution to this is really, really, really twitchy banhammer and warnings. If riot doesn't want their game to be awful, don't let awful people do awful things. But no, Riot prioritizes having a bigger, scummy playerbase to make more $$ over having a slightly smaller, nicer playerbase. Award players who DON'T get reported with some kind of indicator in champ select/loading (for the team) or something. In fact, I'd say this is more Riot's fault than the community's. In the last 5 years, the numbers of AFKs and trolls hasn't appreciably changed, in my experience.

Who here would talk really negatively/swear/use slurs/ afk, if every time they did they got a warning, and were told if they did it again they'd get banned for 2 weeks automatically? I mean if it's really that hard to get banned, I might as well start afking if we start losing. Heck, I can keep league in the background while I play path of exile, and move my champ around a little bit. Evidently, this will make no difference for me, other than improving my personal experience.
