Getting Banned for Client Failure...

OK. Surely there can be a couple of free-bees before you get your 5 minute ban for not selecting a champion? I'm not sure it's even possible for me to express how infuriating it is to get banned for 5 minutes because the client fails to bring me correctly into the champion select..... I know, it's only 5 minutes but that's not the point. It's the principle of it. I'm getting punished completely unfairly IMO. It's like getting thrown out of a moving car and getting arrested for jaywalking...

This is the usual story of innocent people suffering because of a rule we put in place to try and prevent shenanigans from bad eggs. There must be a better way of handling this..... Hand on heart I can say that I have suffered more psychologically from these undeserved bans than I ever did from people skipping the queue...

I'm adding a poll to this thread. Please try to think about your actual game experience rather than just whether you think these bans are a good idea or not... thanks.

it happens to every one, it could be a # of things that causes it, internet connection, the client, your hardware , ect. to say where the blame is who knows?

Have had this problem a couple of times. One of them was in promos.

Not to be a dick but your poll's question really shapes the way people answer. "Have these bans made your game experience better?". Well no, because once someone jumps queue in anyway or because of anything we don't really see it anymore, and it doesn't matter really.

Now if the question is "do you think these bans are a good idea or not", then you might get very different answers.

I have had the client bug you are talking about and it is annoying, but most of the time it doesn't happen. I only ever got it twice, where the "lock-in" button didnt show the text and I could click it but it wouldn't do anything (although the second time i just minimized my client by accident and then maximized it and it was fine), but plenty of my friends have had it happen to them and its really frustrating.

This bug only seems to happen to me the first game I play after an update but hopefully Riot can fix this cause we aren't gonna see some "free-bees" before we get the wait time since the higher elo players will abuse it and Riot has been focusing really hard on managing the ladder for higher tier players.

You would regularly lose far more than 5 minutes if this didn't exist through increased dodging. You benefit from dodge penalties existence every single time you queue up by way of people dodging less. It certainly sucks to have to eat a small penalty to avoid an obviously negative situation but it is far better than the alternative and simply worth it. You were going to troll that game is lost and going to take more than 5 minutes anyway. So by dodging you get to avoid the loss(or minimize it if its ranked) and lose 5 minutes instead of 20+.
