I have literally started playing League of Legends this week. I have been playing with two friends and I am a very level headed person and refuse to talk to anyone in the chat because it only causes problems. I don't respond to people who try to provoke arguments. But I login today and I get this. I haven't even spoken in the chat for anything, let alone to say offensive language. I hope this doesn't effect my profile in anyway.

If you know you've done nothing wrong, then this is nothing to worry about. Riot implemented a fast-feedback system in order to let players know that they've been reported. It doesn't validate the reports before giving this notice at all, so it doesn't actually mean your account is in bad standing or anything. It only means that somebody decided to report you in a recent game. Before any punishments go out, the system will review a case and validate the reports made against the player, so these invalid reports won't hurt you at all.

Which is actually ironic because it's basically saying. You not responding to verbal abuse isn't like most league players. Which is true because most of Leagues community is extremely toxic haha

What is the purpose of a warning if it has no merit? Don't tell me my behavior wasn't in line when it was or else when my behavior is actually not in line, I will know no better, or have zero understanding of the threshold of what is acceptable or not acceptable.

This isn't for people clearly being an asshole btw this is for anything

This is a fair point, but prior to the instant feedback system's it actually did assess more than just "did player receive a report y/n". The text just hasn't been updated, and likely will not be given the impending removal of the current Behavior Alert system.

Moving forward, we'll be replacing the current iteration of Behavior Alerts/warnings with one that interacts directly with the instant feedback system. Warnings will come with reform cards, and as a result should never be a surprise or confusing to the recipient.

We'll have more info when it's available.

Were you guys aware of this problem that has been floating around for a while?

We as the community sure know about it, but if Riot didn't know about this then it makes me wonder if there is a disconnect between Riotors and community.

Now, if there was a disconnect, is there anything we, as community, make you guys aware of these issues? Or should we keep it hush hush through support tickets?

They knew, they just didn't care.. The terrible phrasing of the alerts is brought up on a daily basis on this board. They just operate under the "ignore them and eventually they'll go away" policy.

OP's picture is kind of a problem, though. When it happens in the post-game chat it runs the risk of outing the person who sent it. I've had a few situations (typically when playing with toxic premades) where a person directly called me out for reporting them.

Seriously... I got reported by my adc in a game where we were totally dumping as all because I took the blue buff as a Renekton I just wanted the cdr and the gold from it so later on I could get more items and its not like the caitlyn needed a blue in the first place. She immediately afk'd right after I got the blue even tho I started it on it and my jungler and my mid were carrying so I thought they didn't really needed either. He then reported me for nothing and I still got the message eventho I didn't say anything remotely toxic in the game or any other games that I can remember.

Yeah...I know that feeling. In almost every game I'm a freaking little sunshine, but I'll still get reported from time to time for absolutely no good reason. I don't troll, I don't intentionally feed and I try to always be nice and encourage my team as long as we have a slight chance. It's kinda sad seeing such message after a game when there really can't be any kind of reason to report me. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

As long as you're telling the truth... I only have one thing to say about that. Caitlyn needs the blue buff, forever and always. Her mana is garbage at all stages of the game. But beyond that, whatevs and still not reason to report someone of course. <3

That just tells you that someone reported you, but if you did nothing against the summoner code then they can report you all they want but you will not be punished so rest assured.

This is nothing to worry about dude. I've been helping my friend learn the game recently and this report just means that someone reported you. Riot isn't validating it, it's just the system going "Hey, this happened, FYI. Maybe look at your behavior and if it is something, work on fixing it." It's not a big deal at all. I've gotten a few of them after a really bad game.

People will report you for a verity of reasons: playing X champ they like/dislike, getting a kill, dieing, talking, breathing, pinging, etc. Sometimes you get these as a lot of people will spam report, and give people false reports. This can give you that warning, esply when more then 3 people false report or trick the enemy team into reporting you for XYZ.

I had this once and I am pretty sure no one reported me because i couldnt remember talking offensively... but i did spam F$#K when dynamic que first came out because i was in que for 45 minutes and I was only Silver 2. But i was in Chat alone and after spamming F$#K alone to myself about 25 times because I was so bored is when I got that message. So I thought it was just Riot tracking bad words and not that anyone reported me for anything. Maybe you said it a lot just talking to your 2 friends even though it didnt matter?

I dont know how true this is btw if they log and send, or if you can only get this by getting reported.

Ive been reported for offensive language and verbal abuse when i say things like "Please stop feeding and play safe" to a teammate whose 2/11, so i wouldnt worry about it.

I need a 3rd party addon that I can configure to replace "omg poopy language that makes people cry" with "i love you" or "puppies and kittens". That way I can get the satisfaction of typing "GO Puppies and Kittens yourself, you I love you mother Puppies and Kittens Puppies and Kittens loving Puppies and Kittens", and none of the legit report associated with it.

OR.... a way to ban chat in champ select, AND in game, AND in post game for everyone. I wonder if there is a limit to how many mutes you can have on your account... I mute everyone every single game.... and I have played thousands of games...

So, basically this reporting concept gives Riot a sort of notification that they should look at your chat for that game, if you actually do not type in chat, you cannot exactly get punished for not saying anything. And it takes A LOT of reports where they see you were being toxic before you get punished, so honestly you shouldn't worry too much, this happens a lot.
