I was just wondering because it seems that people mostly honor the person who carried. If you play a role that doesn't deal damage or a class (like tank) that doesn't get all the kills. Do you get honored less even if you do honorable things like die to save your carry or get great ganks off early game that gets the carry snowballing?

On this account I played support mainly since the start of the season and i've reached honor level 3 at around the same time as other peoples that are playing some hard carry champions so i'd say nope.
BTW for example people usually like to honor you if you saved their life with Lulu's ult a bunch of times during the game, it's really not a damage related thing.
I honor people who are pretty good sports / positive / funny more often than the guy who got 20 kills. My most honored teammate is definitely somebody is thankful to me / good sports.
Good outstanding plays will always stand out and may attract honors.
My personal order of honoring:
I always try to honor someone unless everyone displayed a clear dishonourable behavior, and in that case, I'll be reporting them instead.
Just got honored one or two games ago because my enemy midlaner was trying to tilt me, because he kind of stomped me on lane and was chatting half of the time, I just farmed under tower, sure, i wasnt winning lane but I didnt Feed the midlaner much kills, tried to fullfill my role as good as i could ( roam, and follow up) and probably most important i didnt flame my team for not ganking me or winning my lane for me.
If One of your Team-Mates is happy that you were in the game, even if you were not really good, theyll honor you :)
