Why am I getting banned for retaliation of trolling and flaming of other?

Playing blind pick with a friend. 2 people don't call roles but instalock as mages and don't say anything when I ask where they are going. We get in game and I got early invaded and died first blood, only to notice our "bot lane" is sitting under turret and then proceeds to blame my friend, who was mid, for not helping. I called them toxic and muted them a few mins into the game, and I get banned? Excuse me? Do you guys not expect someone to get angered by a duo q of trolls? I wouldn't have even typed in chat if they didn't flame my friend....but ok riot I guess getting angry at trolls who are intentionally attempting to get people angry by trolling picking and not communicating means that the victim should be banned not the people doing the trolling. Im not going to deny I was toxic, but if I'm the one getting banned when all I did was retaliate then mute them so I didn't have to deal with them for the rest of the game and they don't get any sort of punishment for ruining the enjoyment of my game, I think there is something wrong.

Do you understand what retaliation is? When you retaliate you act just as poorly as those trolls, and the similar behavior is similarly punished.

Mute them and don't lower yourself to their level next time.

"I called then toxic and muted them a few minutes into the game".

If you got banned, no way that's what happened.

You have an agreement with Riot to behave properly while on their servers. It is not an agreement with your teammates.

Their actions don't have the capability to cancel your agreement with Riot.

Just hit mute, and report them afterwards.

  1. Ain't gotta listen to their shit anymore

  2. They can be punished

  3. You aren't punished.

  4. You're not contributing to a toxic dialogue that others have to listen to.

I called them toxic and muted them a few mins into the game, and I get banned?

Im willing to bet that if you post your logs we will see that you didn't just say "you are toxic" then mute them.

5.1. Can I troll, flame, threaten or harass people while using the Riot Services? (No. If you do, you might get banned.) While using the Riot Services, you must comply with all laws, rules and regulations in the jurisdiction in which you reside. You must also comply with certain additional rules that govern your use of the Riot Services (the “Code of Conduct”). The Code of Conduct is not meant to be exhaustive, and we reserve the right to modify it at any time, as well as take appropriate disciplinary measures including account termination and deletion to protect the integrity and spirit of the Riot Services, regardless of whether a specific behavior is listed in the policy as inappropriate. In addition to the Code of Conduct, please review the Summoner’s Code for additional guidance on exemplary gameplay behavior.

That's why.

Thanks for the replies everyone, when I get my account back Im just gona /mute all at the beginning of every game,

That's not accurate. Because "I called then toxic and muted them a few minutes into the game" doesn't get you banned. Post your chat log, then we'll discuss it. Till then your case is closed and your claim is invalid.
