Riot, What is going to happen to the old Honor system with the introduction of the new system?

For example, i have a teamwork banner in my load screen as i go into matches (the little green ribbon over the middle), that i have had for quite a long time, and i'm fairly proud of. I have over 967 teamwork honors, and 461 honorable opponent honors. I'm significantly concerned that these honors are going to become trash and the reward of the banner for my sportsmanship and teamwork is going to be removed simply because the new honor system will replace it, and perhaps other people don't utilize the system as frequently. I watched the recent "Riot Pls" video that discussed the new Honor and Rune System that will be released, but it occurred to me that the video failed to address what would become of the current Honor system and those people that were rewarded under it. Thank you for all of your hard work and continued effort on behalf of the player base. Keep releasing awesome content and caring about your players, and i will keep playing and buying skins for years to come.
