Thoughts on being punished for asking the other team to report your teammates?

First off, some real talk, nobody on the other team cares about your drama. We're just glad you're on tilt.

But to get into a discussion: I've never been reported for this, but I've been reading through a lot of boards lately because I can't sleep, and I've noticed that people are saying you can report somebody for asking for a report on their teammate because they said something bad. I suppose you could falsely accuse somebody by doing this and get them reported for nothing, but if they didn't do anything they won't be banned. Also, being reported multiple times in a game doesn't really have that much of an impact, because if one Riot employee see's you being a butthead, they're going to give you a warning, strike, ban, or whatever it is you have coming.

The point I'm trying to get at here is that this seems like a cheesy thing to be reported for. The simple answer is "don't ask people to report people for you and you won't get banned." (I deff. won't be saying this in chat anymore,) but I just can't see why this is considered foul play.

Any thoughts on it?

It's legit. Nobody likes to listen to whining and that is exactly what begging for reports is. On top of that it does nothing but contribute to a negative environment and doesn't actually help.

It's harassment.

Who likes listening to somebody ask everyone to report you all game. It's just childish and nobody wants it.

Generally it is used as threat or just a way to take your own jab at someone. More importantly it is useless and inflammatory. 1 report, your own, is all that is needed. They already did whatever thing that is going to be reported so there isn't really any reason to stop at that point and it turns into an "if you get your feet wet you might as well go swimming" situation.

Reporting is not some weapon to hold over people to get them to do what you want, even if what you want them to do is what they should be doing. Reporting is to inform riot that someone is misbehaving so they can take what ever action they deem appropriate.

rito, specifically Lyte, wants to push the false narrative that only like 1% of players get banned (or are toxic or whatever that bs statistic is). Since they can't do it legitimately, because this community is terrible, they say "1 report per game is sufficient WINK WINK and we'll punish you if you try to get more people to report someone WINK WINK the most common word toxic people have in common is "report", and that's totally because they're toxic, and not at all because we consider saying "report" toxic and punishable WINK WINK"

Asking for reports is reportable. It's useless and toxic. It only takes one reports, don't ask the other team to report for you ever.

My guess is that people use this "report x" as a vent when somebody fcks up:)..it's like this, jungler takes your kill, you spam "report x for ks".People use it as a vent. I know this, bcs sometimes i whant to say in chat "report x" so that everybody sees that i hate the living shit out of this guy:)
