25 Game Chat Ban, for this one game. Just finished my 10 game ban 3 days ago :(

Hey guys, I just received a 25 game chat ban after THIS game. I know some of it may be offensive, but i find that most other players I'm matched with in S1 speak the same way, or say even worse stuff. I know my chat was a bit inappropriate but really? 25 more games? And when referring to the "%%%" i was talking about my friend (in the same match) who had disconnected momentarily to reset his router. Prior to my 10 game ban last week I'd never been banned and spoke the same way. I wish i could have the whole team's chat log because they were saying stuff that parallels my text. If people are really being this sensitive 24/7 nowadays I might as well just use my wallet on another game.

That's what these warnings are for. If you don't shape up you'll end up permabanned.

The severity of the behavior is not the issue. It's the consistency.

I have been speaking and acting the same way in game since season 2, and just received my first ban last week, so shaping up may take time since I've gotten into my old habits, but I'm still wondering why this has become an issue just now.

Yes because the most annoying part about it is you spammed so many messages during a game that needs concentration. Second, some of what you said is obviously inappropriate. Third, saying "gg ez scrubs" is annoying, rude, and unsportsmanlike.

This game is rated Teen, and first of all, any mention to that content in a game would qualify as a M or Mature rating. Also, don't try to be tyler1 and say "I didn't do anything". ~ruski

To be honest, I've never really thought of it that way. I will definitely reform my chat behavior. Just a question, is there any way for me to block all chat for myself ONCE my ban is up? I feel like that'd actually help me a lot in trying to reform.

There isn't a definite way, but you can turn off all chat, and when you enter the game you can mute everyone on your team to avoid incoming negative communication and discourage yourself from sending messages. ~ruski

In my eyes what makes League quite lame is how young the player base is. I really wish they would make an adult server - This is the first online game I have ever played that is geared toward 7 - 12 year olds. Really wish I could find an alternative to League that was targeted toward 18+ players.

Just mispell all the "bad words". Their computer doesn't pick up mispelled words. No, I don't think you should have been chat restricted for the one game.. I do think that the gg ez scrubs line tho should have triggered at least a warning.. then again, riot no longer gives warnings and just goes straight to chat restrictions now a days...

You obviously have not seen some of the Club names running around have you.. I've seen over 100 that are just misspellings of hate speech that has gotten around the filtering... the same filtering they use for their behavior punishment system..

Different tool for different things.

There are some words the chat filter doesn't catch even if they're spelled correctly, but that doesn't mean the automated system ignores them as well.

Club names don't have proper moderating software yet. They have to be reported either after games or via Support Ticket. Let them finish building the system first.

Yeah, the players in the match were being pretty friendly and two of the opposing players even went to calling me "veigar tha god" which is why i said "tha gawd". I agree the GG ez scrubs might've been a bit much, but I got no warning at all before the ban. I exited another match and was met with "you have 24 games left until chat restrictions are lifted". In the moment i didn't really think i was being offensive, but if i got a warning or pop-up notification that said something like "Hey, stop being offensive in chat" i would've definitely shut up.

This system is not using a list of words, you can get punished even if you don't use a single bad word but still show your team mates constantly that they are bad.

This guy is not offending someone with bad words directly but he is an a**hole over the whole game which is the best example how good this system is.

a rating of "teen" only applies to the content of the game, not the players involved. Every game gives this disclaimer in their EULA, including League.
