How does this even work? I was banned for TWO WEEKS about 5 minutes after a game I just played. There can't be a riot employee looking at this so quickly- does it pickup on certain keywords? Or is it based on the number of people who report you? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.
Deep Terror Nami3 votesIt's the Instant Feedback System. Reports against you build up a case, and when it gets big enough the IFS will check your logs for the offending behavior. If the negative behavior is severe and/or consistent enough you'll be punished. The IFS does its review within 5 minutes of the triggering report(s).

Deep Terror Nami1 votesI guess they don't actually use the term "automated", but yes the system is automatic. Manual reviews are still done randomly and for fringe cases or otherwise when necessary to ensure accuracy, but otherwise the IFS is a completely automated system; it verifies reports for accuracy and punishes (even up to a permaban) without the necessity of manual review at any step.
I'm sure you're worried about the system being dumb and punishing people based on false reports, but it's actually more accurate than the Tribunal was. Here's are some additional resources for information;
