New to League and have Some Thoughts

  1. Jesus, do you people play this to have fun? Because omg it doesn't seem like you're having fun when you fly into hysterics because someone else is bad at the game. If you don't like playing with people that are different skill levels than you, why do you play a team-based game to begin with? There are plenty of great, competitive 1v1 games like Star Craft you could be playing, so why do you keep playing a game that's going to give you a damn ulcer?

  2. I truly don't understand the weird obsession with winning. I am happy when I do well, even when I lose. I've seen people get S on the losing side. It still totally happens. Why is it that people flip out when it becomes clear they are going to lose? Or - my god - even when they aren't losing, but someone makes a mistake? Are people really such babies that they can't be happy with their own performance? None of you will ever be pro. Seriously, if that's why you're so insane about it, you've got to chill out. It's never going to happen, and nobody in the world cares about your LoL rank, except, inexplicably, you.

  3. No, 99% of the people you are flipping out at for "trolling" or "inting" or whatever are not actually doing those things. And this is the important part: you are also aware of that. I think in your weird, very deluded fantasy brain, you are hoping that they will either flip out back at you, or just admit they are bad. Newsflash, friends, most of us that are new are well aware of the fact that we are bad. I am very bad. I know it. But pretending that the only way someone could be bad is if it's intentional is just the most petulant child thing I've ever heard. You literally are trying to turn yourself into some kind of a victim because you got paired with someone that isn't very good at a damn video game. Please think about that for a moment.

  4. Literally, this forum makes all the toxic crap worth it. Watching all these permabanned or chat banned players come on here and whiiiiiine and moooooan to each other and post their completely unhinged chat logs like, "SEE!?!?!? I didn't specifically tell him to self-harm!!! How tf do you get banned for this??? What ever happened to freedom of speech!?!?!" It's literally the best part about the game. Game is good, game can be fun if you get good, chill people on your team. But this is just wonderful. The schadenfreude is so strong here, lol.

Anyways, those are my first impressions of this game's players. It is, of course, the minority, but it is still like, a very sizable amount of players. Enough that there is probably at least 1 per game I've played so far. I've played many team-based competitive games before, but holy smokes, never seen anything quite like this, not even in CoD. Now please, give me your saltiest, permabanned comments. I need them... for science.

thinking people have fun when they play league of legends is your first mistake

I will say this. As the game stands now this was/is the worst time to have started league. In my opinion the last decent season was S5. After that it all went downhill.

Dude LoL being practically the biggest game ever in terms of player base, and also the biggest game in terms of e sports automatically creates an extremely toxic and competitive environment In short if you aren't a god with toxicity don't play, play other games like CS before you become better at toxicity so you can then advance to LoL. I've tried complaining about toxicity but it won't work, just play the game be toxic act like a hysterical maniac every game spam chat or about ur feeding teammates trust me its the only way you can have fun or mute chat These 2 methods are tested intensively by myself and I will confirm these are the ONLY 2 ways of playin the game soo... now listen up if you want to be a good child, go home kid this game for real people im sorry to break it to you this game isnt fun unless your toxic or unless you cant hear anyone (I recommend being toxic, much more fun bullying 3 year old childs since they would do the exact same thing if roles were reversed) just remember this trust me if theirs anything you take from playing LoL it should be this: Toxicity altho unliked is the most consistent human characterization, it is what identified humans it is what a proton is to an atom, it defines humans all other human stuff they're just like neutrons and electrons the proton the toxicity is what's the identity And why does this relate to anything bc where can you best observe the human proton, the toxicity? Welcome to PB board !!

So toxic players get their accounts banned for disruptive behavior. However, because they are addicted to the game, they create new accounts and continue their toxic ways.

What you are seeing is a cesspool of toxicity, and not reflective of what you will mostly experience.

If they were toxic, make sure you report them after the game, and the system will review their actions.

While you are here, let me take this opportunity to educate you about the system.

A report triggers the system to review the game. It doesn't matter if there was 1 report or 9 reports. The result of the review is the same.

The system will determine if there was any disruptive behavior in that game. If not, the report will be tossed out. If there was disruptive behavior, then the system will mark and assign that game with a toxicity score. That score will accumulate in thebplayer's account, and when the score passes a certain threshold, the player will get punished.

Understand that the system only gives you a punishment notification if the game you reported the player shows up in their reform card. Since the reform card only shows you 1-5 recent games as examples of unacceptable behavior. If the game you reported someone has passed the "recent" timeframe, then it won't be shown in the player's reform card and thus you won't get a punishment notification.

So what does this all mean?

  • Don't worry about people reporting you, it does nothing to you if you did nothing wrong
  • No need to ask for reports, and dont need to worry when others ask for reports against you
  • You won't always get a punishment notification. Best thing to do is to report and move on.

If you have more questions about how the behavior system works, feel free to ask.

Is this your first time playing a competitive game?

I played my overwatch placements this year(im bad at overwatch but finally hit lvl 25 or whatever), I literally got yelled at by adults. I swear even low elo csgo isnt bad, compared to what happens in overwatch. The flame in League is not even close to the abuse you receive for being bad in other competitive team games.

It's a competitive game, winning is the point. I'm not sure what you expected, were you in ranked? It's not about being pro or impressing anyone. It's about winning, play a team sport like football or basketball.

I'm guessing you're not playing ranked, right? Attitudes like that are ridiculous in normal queue, but I can understand a more serious mindset in ranked.

  1. people are very vain in this community

  2. "I only have fun if I win" is a phrase all too common. It's quite sad.

Your experience isn't likely to change. You'll grow use to it. Find friends to play with.

Also:

PS maybe youre just too sensitive for league.
