Better Life
So I guess i just wanted to share this, maybe this isn't the best way but whatever.
Just played a quick solo queue game. I started matchmaking, got into lobby, pretty standard stuff. The first thing that is posted to the message board is a player saying that they should kill them self. Now, this could have been to get a rise. sure. I expected the common responses to immediately start littering the chat: "do it" or "kys". What happened next was truly baffling.
Each and every other player spent the rest of the
time in pre-game chat trying to convince them not to.
I did not think to copy the chat unfortunately. Regardless, this event blew my mind. I'm so used to the toxicity that is so deeply rooted in this game. I experience it--or create it--almost every single ranked game. In spite of this, these players banned together and their kindness brought tears to the individual considering ending it all.
This game was already a win to me, and it hadn't even begun. Thanks to those players and all others like them. I firmly believe that a life was saved today.
Thanks for reading. Hopefully this story brought you some hope.
