The banning process.

So let me give you a little bit of background. I am a level 14 and i recently bought Varus, he seemed fun and easy. My third game playing him there was one of the most toxic players i have ever seen in an online game. Using slurs that should not be seen in this game, or any for that matter. And at the end of the game and after all the frustration and anger, I let out a remark which shouldn't be stated. To get to the point, after i reported him I was the one who received a ban. It was a 14 day ban for only saying three letters. Which is very excessive, and why there should be a gradual banning process. My point is, if you ban a person new to the game for that long of a period they may lose interest and may not come back after the 14 days. It should should start with for example, a 2-3 hour ban with a warning about your actions and if the problem persists the ban can reach a day, then so on and so forth. Since i am banned i was able write this so please discuss ideas with me and share your thoughts. Thank you if you read all of this!

If those three letters began with a f, then that is hate speech, which I feel can slip the slap-on-the-wrist warnings. I know it may seem harsh, but that is by design: that sort of language is not okay on League.

If they began with a ky-, then it's encouragement to self-harm, which is just as bad.

So either you used a homophobic slur or told the dude to kill themselves. I sympathize that the new player experience is not great, but you shouldn't need a warning to teach you that either of those things is absolutely unacceptable. The community as a whole has overwhelmingly been in support of Riot cracking down on such behavior with zero tolerance.

Your account standing at this point is going to take longer to repair than the amount of time it took you to reach level 14, so I'd suggest abandoning it and starting a new account at this point.

Do not use the chat or you will get banned.

Snowflakes melting everywhere, be careful.

zero tolerance policy. automatic 2 week ban, and your account is on thin ice from here on out.

"if there's a zero tolerance policy on hate speech and threats, why don't they tell the players beforehand?"

good question!

I sincerely recommend just making a new account at this point. Your current account is now at high risk for being permanently banned. You can get to level 14 quickly on a new account.

If your remark was basically, anger and trigger words. And it’s end game chat then they can just ban u. The thing is if you ever ever want to be baned again. Mute all every game play what’s you want. If you do bad no one can shame you.

typically there are small punishments. there are two levels of chat restrictions before 14-day bans usually but you used zero tolerance language which is an automatic 14-day ban. next one is a perma. new player or not the terms and conditions are the same.
