League of Legends and it's toxic player base

Alright so I'm not much to post on the forums but this game is just as toxic, if not more than it was when I started playing originally. I've been around since season 2 and used to talk a LOT of shit. Now I have grown up, I'm no longer an edgy teen, and this game's report system is beyond automated garbage. I have just recently received a 14 day suspension in the following case. First off it's ARAM and I got Singed. I'm doing my best to do anything at all because singed clearly isnt the best champion for ARAM. Out of nowhere I start getting flamed for doing poorly as well as others on the team. The same person continues to tell us they're going AFK on us so I said we don't need him anyway. Full force he starts attacking me over team chat so I called him an Eff A Gee. I guess that was where I went wrong because if you say something like that you're going to be insta-banned.

My point on this is there shouldn't be an automated system for something like this where dickface on your team who says AFK and starts harassing your teammates in a game mode that was designed to not be competitive in the first place. The report system is a joke and trolls who catch you saying one offensive word can use it against you even though clearly nobody was offended by anything in the chat. If you're offended by LoL chat by now lets face it you shouldn't be playing the game anyway. I just find it so silly that this report system can be abused by trolls who study the rules because they've been banned for being toxic in the past and still haven't changed their behavior. I've lost 2 accounts when I talked a lot of shit but I guess in the future the only way to not get auto-banned will just to /mute all.

Concluding thoughts on this are if I have to /mute all just to play the game without the urge to reply to trolls and never talk strategy with matchmade games, then I'm done with League of Legends. The community is still as shitty as ever. I returned (last played in season 5) for preseason 8 and am already very disappointed with where the game is in terms of the report system. It has only taken several steps back from what it used to be.

I'm going to include the game from which I am talking about below. I wish I could have included the instigators chat log as well but it turns out they even nerfed report chat logs.

I am aware that calling someone a bundle of sticks is what got me my 14 day, so if I were to replace that with C U next Tuesday, would I have been in the clear? I am open to suggestions.

The use of hate speech is what caused the escalation to a 2-week ban (zero-tolerance policy for that), but even if we ignore the hate speech you still spend the entire game verbally abusing and harassing other players. Being frustrated is one thing, taking it out on others is another. Even if other people are behaving poorly that doesn't mean you can join in on it as well and get away with it. The "they started it" excuse didn't work in school and it doesn't work here. Everyone is responsible for their own behavior, and if you reported them and they have a history of poor behavior then they'll get punished just like you were here. In the future if someone is behaving poorly in chat then just mute, report and move on rather than retaliate back at them (and thus giving them the negative reaction they wanted out of you).

I understand games can be frustrating, especially with a troll, but the reason you got the 2 week ban was probably due to hate speech. You also said someone was "cancer" which is also toxic. Even if you were on the receiving end, replying with toxic or passive comments is generally forbidden due to riot's rule. I won't say that I'm 100% innocent of doing this at times but either mute the people who are being toxic to you or try not to reply with negativity. Also, what do you mean by "C U next Tuesday" and "a bundle of sticks"? If you are referring to the hate speech you used at the beginning of the chat logs, it would have probably been better but there is a lot of negativity from what the chat log says.

I'll never understand the excuse of: they were toxic to me so I am supposedly allowed to be a jerk and not get punished.

Some people need to act more mature, just report after the game.

If I can't be verbally offensive then boo too I'll throw the game. Get caught and complain on the boards. Not much sympathy from me for actions (retaliation).
