How is it i get permantly banned for trying to tell teammates they're trolling/or telling them they're doing bad and to do better? i've been muted for swearing and arguing, but that shouldnt mean i get reported for things like this. so because i've been muted i should have to be the most polite person who never communicates with other players when they're doing poorly?

Because you didn’t heed the warnings in your prior chat restrictions and punishments that you would continue receiving longer and more severe punishments if you didn’t improve.

You are not allowed to flame and belittle your teammates for 20+ minutes just because you don’t like them, they’re playing bad, or they’re trolling.

You can get reported for not responding. You won’t get punished for saying things if you literally never say anything.

Further, you aren’t defending yourself. They won’t (obviously) stop trolling. You flaming them won’t make them play better. There is no harm coming to you (it’s a video game, not a financial/violent situation from which you must defend yourself). There is no “defending”, simply you retaliating and flaming.

I have been reported in situations were i didnt say anything though, that's my point i geuss you wont understand until you're in my shoes,unless you have tips to contact actual developers about this, youre not helping man

You can get reported all you want. If you did not say anything toxic, you will not get punished.

Report =/= punishment. False reports, like those against you if you never talked, are thrown out and don’t count against you.

You are free to file a support ticket at https://support.riotgames.com . They will tell you the exact same things as we are here.

I’d strongly recommend trying to engage in discussion here though. Like I said, the boards are generally spot on with what Riot will say to you, and you’ll probably get a faster response here with more discussion.

yeah, cant get mad at the players because the banning system is tilted in the reporters favor if i even say one thing that might make a kid cry, but it really makes this game not the same when i have to watch out for talking to my teammates for fear of being muted/banned. the link didnt work btw idk if there's a new one or whatever.

Good luck, but I regret to say that I doubt you’ll get anywhere. If the ban was not placed in error, they do not remove it no matter how much begging anyone does.

No, you can't get reported for not responding. That would be counter intuitive. There's a mute button for a reason. I've been muting the entire game for 4 years and never once got reported for not responding.

It has happened where the game shows me a list of things i said, and it doesnt show me saying anything but i still get a mute from it. im speaking from experiance, youre not

That used to be (and may still be) a bug if you used certain special characters such as < or > in the game. You chatted that game. It just broke the reform card.

You can't get muted for not talking. Why would Riot give you an option to mute all your team mates and then punish you for not talking? They don't. Even if you didn't say anything, you were either spam pinging or inting.

You cannot be punished for not responding. The system can and will filter those reports out.

You can and will be punished for harassing, insulting, or non-constructively criticizing teammates. Telling them they're bad isn't constructive.

This is all I needed to see to know that it's been earned. I understand that you don't think this is very serious, but severity of insult is not really a factor on these decisions. The fact is, you bothered to type into chat and insult your teammate. There is nothing to gain by doing that; it's an entirely negative action. Entirely negative actions earn bans.

you should've seen her dive full into the turret right before i said that to her. i geuss telling the truth to someone is bad on league, idk how i shouldnt tell them they're playing bad, maybe i couldve helped them play better afterward. but instead because of the ELO/MMR i end up stuck with trolls...reading the script always looks worse than what really happened, but in reality not one person on my team played well, should i not inform them turret diving is playing bad?

The game doesn't have a One sided system..

If people were flaming or trolling, you shouldve just reported them. Not flamed them back.

No, you shouldn't. That isn't being a positive teammate. The summoner's code is pretty clear about that kind of thing.

If you were their coach, you could help them improve and point out where they need improvement, but you're not their coach. And even if you were, that's how how you do that. You don't just say "you're bad."

I wouldn't say that to a Bronze 5 player, even though I'm plat 3. And I expect master players not to say that to me in game, even though they are much better than I am. Insults are not acceptable; it doesn't really matter if they are true.

Do you tell someone their mama is fat just because she is? There are social constructs at play here. Politeness matters. In real life, people recognize this. You don't just walk up to the cashier at the grocery store and tell them they're ugly, even if they are. It's only online that people think this behavior is ok, and it's only because you think there aren't consequences for it.

But there are consequences. Now that you've been banned, you know what they are. So instead of complaining about getting beaten up by the ugly cashier's boyfriend, just adjust your behavior. Next time, don't get banned for being a jerk.

it's easy to talk like youve never told someone they're playing badly if they are. i understand social constructs very well. If you're seeing someone do something incorrectly/wrong you dont tell them? sounds like either you arent actually an adult and you dont know how to be in social enviroments yourself. If i play a game, i expect everyone to play to their best ability so if youre not i will tell you. i dont see that being reportable. it's not my fault my team took the other players side and reported me. reply when youre gone through real life

:) I'm one year from getting a PhD, my friend. Academia is not real life at all, but I have plenty of experience being an adult.

Part of being an adult is recognizing that your actions have consequences. Coming to an internet forum and complaining about being treated unfairly is not a mature response to several warnings and a ban. Riot controls the rules. Riot made the rules clear. They told you exactly what would happen if you kept breaking the rules. You kept breaking the rules.

What did you think was going to happen?

It's perfectly fine to tell someone they've done something wrong, as I just did with you. I do this all the time grading college students's work. The difference is how you do that. Saying "you're bad" is unhelpful. Saying "yo ashe, you dove a little hard there. can't protect you when you do that :)" is totally different. Both tell the Ashe she could improve, but the second one is positive and helpful, while the first is negative and qualifies as being a jerk.

On that note, I would highly recommend you stop insulting people when you know nothing about them. It mostly just makes them laugh (which was my exact response to reading that). I'm not perfect (nobody is), but telling an accomplished teacher and scientist that they don't know anything about real life is laughable. I don't presume to know anything about your financial or social standing, but I'm pretty secure in mine. Attacking me there just makes you look bad, amigo.

I'm a grad student. We often work as TAs, but that means I'm the only instructor in the room for most labs.

I'm honestly not trying to troll you. I get why you're frustrated. It's clear to me that you have the impression that you did nothing wrong.

Insulting your teammates is something the rest of the community isn't okay with, though. I don't post on a lot of the "I got banned" threads because I really don't see the point in shaming someone who's already banned.

But when I see one where someone seems genuinely confused about what happened, I want to clarify. This isn't just Riot being a tyrant. The community doesn't see this as being okay. If you stopped being toxic, and went into games trying to be positive and be nice to your team, you would quickly realize how abnormal this behavior is. It barely ever happens to me anymore, and that's because Riot bans people for doing it. It's a really good thing for the game in the long run.

You're the minority. I am fully confident that I will never have to deal with getting banned; most players don't. You seem to have the impression that this is inevitable, but it isn't. I've never been punished, much less perma-banned. It's entirely avoidable.

I sincerely hope that when/if you make a new account, you try to see that from the other side. The game is genuinely more fun if you stay positive and try to enjoy yourself.

bro people here act like they dont make mistakes go to support and ask them if they can do anything about your case and if the answer is not i dont know man that account is gone same shiit happened to me 2 weeks ago i tried telling my teammates to play beter they drove me to the point where i almost lost my mind and say some crazy shiit but i didnt i just cussed alittle bit and got perma ban this game is not fair anymore thats all i gotta say good luck to us perma banned players

You were an asshole and while spelling and grammar are important game time isn't the time for that lesson. You also didn't capitalize the start of your sentences nor did you use proper endings such as periods, exclamations, question marks etc.
