Toxic Hell, Not community. (?)

Does everyone have to be mad and pissed at each other in every game honestly, Do you have to use the mute button on everyone to solve the issue of everyone's self driven ego? just play the game or uninstall. People have more things to be worried about then how mad you are at your single match or league. So why ruin the game for the rest of us.

Hello.. Riot?

not sure what RIOT is supposed to do about this...

I mean the behavior of the players is not Riot's fault lol, it's the people's fault

People will be people. It's partially the fault of Riot's punishment systrm, but mostly it's the players that are venting without a reason or purpose.

I'm not sure Riot could do more than what they are already doing. Spend a little time in the forum and you'll see that many people are banned for toxicity.

But otherwise I agree with you, this is just ridiculous. Don't mute everybody, just mute the toxic people right away. You'll have a much better experience, and you'll start noticing that there are also a lot of good people playing LoL, and people like you and I who try to remain positive and never flame people who do poorly.

If you're making mistakes or playing badly etc,. then yes

I'm curious :

Would you rather refrain from flaming bad teammates and win, or flaming them and lose ?

I don't know if that's how it goes in your games, but in mine people who get flamed generally start playing worse, whether because it distracts them, because of stereotype threat (to put it simply, if people say you're bad you are more likely of actually being bad), or because it's their way of getting back at the flamer in a way that the IFS won't punish.

Now I completely understand people who start trolling or inting because someone flames them (I don't do it myself because it's unfair to other teammates who did nothing wrong), but I'd rather not let games escalate to that.

You can salvage a game where a few people are playing poorly, but it's way worse when people troll or int.

People are more inclined to troll/int when the flame is spammed, so i don't spam and only flame occasionally

Well then it could be worse I guess.

I'm tempted to say that if you really feel the need to type in chat when someone does something poorly, you could replace the flame by advices about what they could do, but when I try to do that many people flame, so...

I still don't get why you can get tilted like that because someone does poorly in a video game. In Ranked I get it, because it can be frustrating to lose promos that you deserved to win simply because of dumb mistakes by your allies. But in normal, there is litteraly no stakes at all, so what does it matter whether you win or lose ? And if you want to tell me that it's not fun to lose, then you should really think about that for a second because that means you'll have to suffer through many unfun games since the matchmaking will try to stabilize your WR around 50% in the long run.

I enjoy being competitive and still trying to win. Winning is more fun than losing

Well obviously it's more fun, but I'm just saying it's not -that- much more fun. But I'm a completely casual player so there is a fundamental difference of philosophy here (which is completely alright, I'm not at all saying that my approach to the game is better).

If you're really competitive perhaps you should focus on what you should do in the game given the current circumstances, instead of thinking about other players and wasting time flaming them. Like thinking "ok, so this dude is completely useless, how can I play around that and salvage this game?". If you keep focusing on that, you'll just think about things that are in your control, so it'll be a bit less frustrating and more enjoyable that way. It's not a perfect solution, but it could improve your experience when playing LoL.

Isn't flaming my teammates doing just that?

instead of thinking about other players

I believe thinking about only yourself goes against the concept of teamwork. Think about your teammates so you can maybe help them improve.

and wasting time flaming them.

I said i don't flame constantly, and i only flame when I'm dead or walking back to lane etc,. where i otherwise can be typing. I don't flame when in the middle of a team fight or something.

I can do both. I can think about myself and my team simultaneously

I don't really see how flaming teammates is something you "should" do, though.

And ideally I would indeed think about my teammates to help them improve, and that's why I used to give them advice in the most polite and friendly way I could think of, but many people in this game just flame when they're given advices so I stopped. So it's kinda useless.

I mean, I still do it if the person shows that they're open to criticism, like when they explicitly ask for it or when they say "sry" (which implies they recognize they fucked up, and that they're not perfect), but more often than not it's just useless.

And btw, you probably don't care but I'm not the one downvoting you constantly, I don't downvote people without a good reason, just to be clear.

Giving advise doesn't always help. Some people react better/well to criticism or negativity. Koreans are prime examples of this

I'm not saying that.

Earlier I said:

"If you're really competitive perhaps you **should **focus on what you **should **do in the game given the current circumstances,"

To which you replied:

"Isn't flaming my teammates doing just that?"

And yeah I know giving advice isn't always useful, that's why I stopped, it's what I said in my last post. I find it a bit sad, but we can't do much about it.

I'm generally not mad in games, even if people screw up. The one thing that sets me off is people picking champs they haven't and can't play then proceeding feed like there is no tomorrow.
