Wrongfully Permabanned

Dear RiotGames,

Hey there! Can I talk to you for a second?

This morning, I received a heartbreaking e-mail saying that my "account was permanently suspended due to me maliciously using 3rd party programs to gain an advantage of the game." At first, I thought this was some kind of nightmare. I've been playing League of Legends since Hecarim was released as a champion (April 18th, 2012.) Not ONCE has my account ever been suspended, or banned for any reason. My e-mail is not a fraudulent e-mail, I do not share accounts, I downloaded the game directly from the website, I haven't used any kind of program for "custom made skins", nor do I have any kind of Macros for anything. I'm literally a Goodie two-shoes when it comes to Terms of Service. I've already spoken with 3 Riot Support Employees, all three of which have ignored my questions and have closed the chat whenever I was still asking them questions. So far I've gotten that my account was suspended by "cheating" in games to where I would win easier. I've asked what kind of cheating program I used and when I used it, but apparently all of my account information is classified and they can't tell me anything, which makes sense in a way, but not a good way. The Riot Employee told me that there was no way to uplift the ban, even though I've told them countless times that I'm innocent. They're telling me that my actions were wrong, but what actions have I done to be put in this predicament? What is even considered cheating(Besides scripting, exploits and Macros?)

This has to be a mistake. I don't even know how to cheat in League of Legends. You either win, or you lose. Why would I want to throw something away that I've been working so hard for for almost 6 years?

I just want some information to why I'm being punished for something I haven't done. Please help me.

Sincerely, A heartbroken fan.

EDIT: To anyone who is still banned, keep your spirits high! After a long day of fighting, they finally saw that their system messed up and uplifted the ban on me. I finally have my account back! H Y P E R S

With support tickets you can ask for a manual review, but you can't ask for them to explain why you were caught. If they explain why you were caught and you happen to be one of the real scripters then you could reverse engineer how they detected you and they don't want that.

Hope this clarification helps. Be polite and persistent in asking for a manual review, and make it clear to them that you're not asking to know how or why, otherwise they will just keep closing your tickets.

Guilty folks act just as innocent as the real innocent folks, so there's no way to know if you're being genuine with your claims here.

If you're innocent then I hope you get your account back, and if you're guilty then just know your ancestors are ashamed of you for cheating and being dishonest.

Good luck with things.

This is upsetting, same thing has happened to me. What concerns me is the fact it seems they are either taking no action on this. Were being treated like criminals, when were the victims. It's like if we were raped but then after being raped we were treated as our own rapist.

I was banned as well with no explanation as to what I did wrong, just "You were caught using Third Party Programs" without describing the program in question, but to my knowledge nothing new is present on my PC that would be flagged down for this kind of treatment. I spent so much money on my account it isn't funny and it's gone now because of a systematic error. You can look at my games played, I am clearly not hacking.

Who the fuck actually uses scripts anymore? Everyone knows that the accounts who are associated with them are banned within 6 hours lmao. That right there tells me that the ban is false.

You and me both friend. Riot robbed me of 7 years of love, time, and money invested into my account this morning too.. Have felt like I want to throw up since 8:30 this morning

All you can do is the support tickets. We don't know your situation and can't help you to be honest. For all we know, you're just another liar who bought an account and is finally getting banned for it. Or you're being honest. How can we know? I hope you get it straightened out.

Edit: oh ya, must be a banwave happening, given some of the responses in this thread.

I hope you can get some insight if you're innocent and get this resolved. Otherwise I hope you're publicly summoner 11 'd by a player behavior remember.

Do I have concerns about third-party program bans?

I basically run a workstation, and I have an "Asus Motherboard" which supports "Keybot 2" and has the services always running in the background, as well as a Logitech Keyboard, and ASUS ROG Strix mouse which can always be used to write custom scripts and cheat a game, even add no recoil to guns in games like PUBG do I do this no because its cheating.

But fact is certain hardware can contain features which can be used for cheating the way I suspect Riot Games detects cheaters is the way people write macros, for example, a riven q combo or script that would automate such a function would be pressed at an exact certain time for example a macro in a script generally has something like 0.33321 seconds or something in it now assuming that a person uses a skill for a specific champion for example and it triggers at the exact same time for 3 riven Q presses multiple times through-out the game (EASILY CAUGHT FOR CHEATING) because there is no way this is going to happen.

But the concern is if Riot Games is banning people for running OverWolf, or any software like this in the background, rather than notifying the user at the launch of the game that they have to disable it which would likely upset a lot of people i've had no issues so far and I've been playing LOL for years but the concern is still there of if in the future something flags me or someone else for cheating Riot Games should be able to provide a basic answer to what triggered the ban if a user provides a Task List of programs and its running and even names all the applications they were running / using at the time of which it was and verify if they were cheating or not.

I still wonder how this affects a game company if they publically post that a player was cheating but don't back it up with evidence, or if a user is banned on live stream from any game or service but it's not proven?

They cant tell you because it gives more information to people making 3rd party software to bypass detection. It sucks, but we just need to assume riot is in the right on it, and hope they are.

I would also hope theyre at least doing a lot to confirm these are being handed out accurately.
