Why autofill is ruining the game for more than one person.

Okay so this is probably something said a thousand times but I am going to try to take a crack at it and explain it in a way everyone can relate to.

Alright so first and foremost is the idea that you've queued for let's say mid and top. These are two popular positions. You've been practicing ayour champion and know your match ups quite well. The queue pops and UGHHHH you're support. So now you're sitting here not knowing support well and suspecting that the high impact gameplay you wanted from playing your mid lane assassin or top lane fighter is now history. Second this makes the player a reluctant participant. This negativity from the onset of the game greatly diminishes the player's want to really contribute to the team. Third support while seen as an easy role is truly not. A support like Nami takes a lot of practice to play and is noticeable when played right versus fudged for autofill. Lastly this impacts the marksman player because an adc is completely reliant on their lane mate. Without a good support most Marksmen fall to crap pretty quickly if the enemy lane is even half working together.

So now you have a whole lane affected by a player being forced in to a position which they have no desire to play and no in depth knowledge of. What's worse is this lane comprises 40% of your team's players. So now you have two players who are negatively impacted by a forced position. With the pressure off of the enemy bot lane the enemy jungler can now focus on harassing the other two lanes which leads to mid saying what I see commonly.

"I'm being camped"

Okay so I could go in to the rest of what happens but we've all seen what a shit show a match can become. I'm kind of bias in this subject because I am in very low elo and I'm an ADC main. So I get autofilled supports all the time. Now there are obvious arguments but hopefully we can get those out of the way before they overtake a conversation.

#OBVIOUS ARGUMENTS AND THEIR COUNTERPOINTS!#

#This is only a problem in low elo.#

Well most of the players in the game exist in the lower divisions of the ranked system. So this affects a majority of players.

#People should learn how to play all positions.#

Agreed but a lot of players might even know how to support but will autopilot the game to just "Get it over with" so it's still an issue.

#Well they asked for a position swap and nobody would. #

Yeah nobody is obligated to switch positions to the most commonly undesired role in the meta. So unfortunately most times everyone else got their role and you're the odd man out. It sucks trust me i know.

#Everyone gets autofilled it's just something you should deal with.#

While I applaud people who do their best in a match where they're autofilled not everybody is a team player.

#Without autofill matches simply take too long to find.#

Agreed. Can't really argue this but what we have isn't working out.

#Just suck it up and get through the game when you're support autopilots or trolls.#

Why should the game be unenjoyable for two people because of an autofill?

TLDR; Autofill makes more than one player miserable and makes players negative minded due to being a reluctant participant in a game.

I dunno I've been autofilled both top and adc before So its not just the support role that gets autofilled Autofill is great imo, its an equal opportunity that should reward the player who got autofilled imo Kinda like jury duty, yeah it sucks but hey at least you get payed for jury duty
