Chat shouldn't go away when someone mutes you

Recently had a toxic player send me a friend request post-game. They proceeded to type some more toxic things and then mute me. Whatever. My issue here is that, when they muted me, their chat log disappeared from my side of the server, so not only could I not screenshot it for my formal report, but that there is no easy way to send a report to Riot. This is a feature that could very easily be fixed, and should be.

i have no clue if your talking about personal dms or not, but if you are you should know those arent reportable unless they were say sending you real death threats, if you choose to add someone toxic after game thats all on you

I can't say for sure, ... because I don't honestly know, ... but I would be confident in assuming that Riot is still able to access that log.

Yes, PM's might be opt-in, but from what I've observed, most people remember random teammates as their champion names, not their player names. And if no one was bad enough in the game to remember, why not accept the friend request?

I've played for years. In all that time, I've only run into one person who added me specifically to insult me.

Yeah it could very easily be fixed by not accepting friend requests from toxic players. Also, its easily fixed by removing them from your friends list when they send you something insulting. Block them, move on with your life.

Preemptively screenshot things, that'll save you the hassle.

Glad to see that 0 of you focused on the actual issue, and instead went the route of "victim blaming."

So sad that even the Player Behavior board is toxic. I give up.
