Seriously, I've played league for a long time now, but I can't get anywhere in ranked. Constantly I get people who AFK or D/C at the start or middle of a game, causing us to lose. These games should be loss prevented. I'm tired of getting close to passing my promos and then getting an AFK.
I agree, its been suggested before. And while there are ways to abuse it, I have proposed solutions and made points that would correct those problems fairly easily.
Unfortunately, Riot has never responded to a thread like this one (at least that I'm aware of) nor have they made any statements to the public regarding their stance on this. It seems we are stuck with it the way it is.
Loss prevented really isn't going to do much more than make you feel better( or less bad as the case may be). Individual games have very little impact on your overall rank. AFK's happen on both teams(slightly more likely to be on the opposing team actually) and you were going to lose about half of those games anyway.
