Permanent bans

I have been permanently banned by riot games for expressing my strong opinions towards another player. I did not hack, I did not threaten, I did not purposely feed or troll, all I did was talk a little bit of trash to this person who triggered me in game and got his friend and himself to report me which got me permanently banned (I did check, and they were a duo, that's how I know they both reported me). Now why is that bad, I disrespected the league of legends EULA so I should not be allowed to play this game, right? Well, while that may be true, all I did was express myself, using a couple swear words, yes, but league of legends buffers them anyway (if I write fuck, the player is going to see ****) and if they disable that option, they are responsible for it. Now where am I going with this? I am suggesting that Riot Games implement a permanent chat ban system, or something similar, and only permanently bans people for things that actually hurt the community (hacking, purposely feeding, etc...), and I am suggesting they be a little less harsh, because currently you get a permanent ban after two restrictions ( chat restriction, two week ban ) and while it is clearly said in the league of legends EULA, I doubt people read that, and most people aren't even aware that permanent bans are a thing, like myself. Simply chat banning someone will deny them the ability to offend people with the chat. If people get angry over being chat banned and decide to purposely feed, then I agree that you should proceed to permanently banning them.

Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope this is helping.

You see though...

(if I write fuck, the player is going to see **) and if they disable that option, they are responsible for it.

There's a bit of an issue with your logic...

and if they disable that option, they are responsible for it.

A rather embarrassing problem at that...

they are responsible for it.

No.

they are responsible for it.

No, no, a million times NO! The players you lash out against are not responsible for your own lousy behavior. Only you control your own actions, and it really irritates me that you are trying to shift blame to someone else.

Riot does not ban simply for cursing, but for berating and cursing at other players. ("Fuck, that sucked." is fine. "Fuck you, noob asshole." is not fine.) Turning off the chat filter doesn't flag someone's account as 'Okay to verbally abuse', nor should it.

If you really want help understanding your ban, feel free to post the chat logs Riot sent you. I'm sure plenty of us will be willing to help you understand the situation at that point.

Permanent chat bans was tried in the past and did not work. IIRC, the reason was that they will still be mad regardless and instead chose to troll via gameplay.

because currently you get a permanent ban after two restrictions ( chat restriction, two week ban )

You are missing a strike:

1st strike - 10 game chat ban 2nd strike - 25 game chat ban 3rd strike - 14 day full ban 4th strike - perma

There is an exception for hate speech, racial slurs, or extreme cases of toxicity, that will result in skipping and going straight to 3rd or 4th strike.

Which brings up the other flaw with your perma chat ban idea: They already have to go through 2 chat bans to get to any kind of full ban(unless hate speech), which makes it very likely a chat ban isn't going to stop their toxicity regardless of length.

So you were toxic and want to blame the people you were toxic to? Seems legit.

There was a pseudo-permanent chat ban system before the Instant Feedback System was established.

As it turned out, players with infinite chat bans would just turn to gameplay trolling instead of toxic chat.
