Chat bans instead of permanent bans?

Guys, I really think that it's too much to ban someone forever just because of few bad words in a random games. What if someone spent a lot of money on lol and he really enjoys playing it and once in a few years he have a bad day and he says few words like "kys" or something like that and he gets permanently banned. I think it's better to ban his chat for a week/month/year or even more. If someone spent 2000€ on this game, but he didn't get reward for 500 days playing lol without being toxic, and one day he gets mad and get perma ban. I think you have one of the worst ban systems in all world games. [sg-jinx]

Chat bans were tried and found to be extremely unsuccessful. Those "bad days" turned into intentional feeding and other forms of trolling, they didn't just go away.

We've all had bad days. Most of us find a better way of processing them than lashing out in hateful and disgusting ways on undeserving strangers.

Couldnt have said it better myself. Finally someone else besides me gets it. Best advice dont spend any money on this game.

One would think not behaving in a manner that gets you permanently banned so you don't waste your money would be better advice. I'm probably biased though.

I mean that I know for sure that if I spent $100 on an account... got perma banned. I'd immediately make a new account and spend $200 on it because I can't learn.

Riot wants people who get banned to leave and not come back. Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent them from creating a new account.

Riot's official stance is that they want banned players to leave and never return.

You may brush that off as a lie, but on the other hand, it's very hard to rationally look at the punishment system currently in place and see people getting banned unjustly. These forums catalog the complaints of the individuals least willing to accept their bans, and even among them, there are virtually never any incidences of the community not uniformly seeing the ban as just.

It's super fucking simple. Be courteous to your fellow players, and never see so much as a single chat restriction. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

That's a stupid business plan. If they'd use that, their playerbase would be gone within half a year.

Considering I've personally heard that pathetically weak excuse of a pathetically weak business plan at least 2 years ago AND they're still going strong, I can say that It's doubtful they do that.

There's a zero-tolerance policy for a reason.

Also chat bans aren't gonna stop people from ruining games via trolling/intentionally feeding/AFKing.

People get warnings before getting permabanned. If they spend money they should make think about what they do to not loose what they bought. Permachatbans were kinda tried with stacking chatrestrictions. People went from flaming to other forms of toxicity like trolling and inting.
