Constructive Criticism

Where to begin...

I will not be discussing the unbalanced in-game mechanics, as they exist in every competitive video game. I will hop right on board to discuss player behavior and punishment, a very very very very flawed system.

FIRSTLY, a thought that's been on my mind since I started playing -- If there is a MUTE button, WHY ON EARTH is there a chat restrict? Players literally have the choice to not see any "hurtful" chat.

Secondly, why is the chat restriction (which shouldn't even be implemented due to the mute button as mentioned above) so strict? If a teammate builds 6 doran's rings or int feeds as soon as the game starts, they 100% deserve to be cussed out. If it offends them they can mute it. Otherwise they should take a verbal beating for ruining a 40 minute (non-leavable) game for literally everyone else. Players who try to have fun and win are punished by having to deal with these trolls, who (if they don't say a curse word) wont be punished.

TLDR : Why are people who troll accepted in this community, but those who get mad at said trolls are severely punished?

I suggest removing chat punishments or at the very least WAYYYY more harsh punishments for trolls to deter them. If neither step is taken then players should be able to leave non ranked matches without penalty. Its hard to have fun with a bad attitude and that I understand. Its harder to have fun when toxic trolls devote their free time to waste 40 minutes of your life.

The mute function doesn't help initial chat problems unless you mute before it even happens. Depending on what is said, will influence whether or not you get reported and by who. Example, hate speech and "kys" maybe it doesn't bother me but it isn't something other people need to deal with, so I would report.

Chat restricts are there to try and teach restraint. "Do I really need to tell this person 20 times that they suck?" You probably don't, you probably don't even need to do it once honestly.

Trolls aren't accepted by the community, at least not actual trolls. Why are you feeding trolls by giving them attention?

If there was no penalty for leaving games, then it would be simple to troll. They would just leave each game after the remake timer expires.

That 'solution' would be a terrible decision.

Also, no one here likes trolls. That's part of the reason that chat is monitored. People giving trolls attention by insulting them PROMOTES TROLLING. Don't feed the troll.

The punishment systems are all separate. You report them all using the same form, but each type of punishment has its own criteria and system to go through. Chat violations are the easiest to commit and detect, so you see that behavior punished the most. EIther way, one type of bad behavior does not give someone else the right to exhibit a different form of bad behavior.
