I have recently been perma-banned due to my last game where players bribed others for a report on me with honor. This happened even though I tried to get the team to stop arguing then muted them all. I have received the short end of the stick and only my handful of games, maybe 2 where I was attacked and defended myself then muted, have been why I was banned or put into tribunal. I've asked for a review and still denied. It's frustrating that toxic players that do this are still able to play the game. (I've made >$250 in skin purchases and gifts)

welcome to league of legends. trolls have the power here, and riot allows them to with their failed report system. it's completely ridiculous and just plain stupid that they allow people to report someone anytime for anything. i have never seen a weaker system in my entire life, and i agree with you 100%. riot has failed and the tribunal needs to be replaced by a mute button... which already exists and would solve all problems if people would just get off their angry troll asses and use it instead of trying to get people reported. it's bullshit, and it will ruin league of legends very soon. too many people put money into this game and get banned for the weakest things. they will lose all their players soon if they do not fix this. they have already lost so much money due to this, my brother put over 1000 dollars into this game and was spending 100 dollars a month every month because he has a lot of money. he was recently banned for having a terrible game and then saying the word noob. this game is for trolls and if you are not a troll then you can't play league. it's pathetic.

Just curious, why is that ridiculous? If Riot only allowed us to report others when they have actually done something worth reporting, that would essentially mean that they would have created a system that knows when somebody has done something worth reporting, which would mean that reporting that person would be useless, because the system already knows that they did something unacceptable and would punish them without them being reported.

Also, yes, people can report others for anything, but you need to understand that reports alone =/= punishment. Reports only trigger a review of their account, and if nothing is found, then no punishment is given.

If you mute every player, and drop 1 F bomb not even directed at someone you just made a bad play and they report you, instant restrictions and ban.

Really? Where's your proof that this will happen? I'm sure I've dropped the F bomb in many of my own games because of making a bad play myself, and in some of those games the F bomb was likely all I said, where's my instant restriction/ban? I certainly don't have one, and I'm sure that at least a few people reported me for it.

I got a 2 week ban a week ago because i had an intentional feeder in team and I asked him to stop several times and then called him a "scrub kid" BAM 2 week ban. looked at his match history. he hadn't gotten 1 kill in the entire history you could see. but died 15-20 times each game. Chat after game he went on to tell everyone i was toxic and to report me because i had hurt his feelings acting like he was all innocent meanwhile while the game was going on he bragged about trolling every game he has played. GUESS WHAT?!?!!? He still plays every single day!!!!! Yup, guess system is working as intended right?

Okay, a few things here:

About your specific case. While I can't say if you deserved the two week ban because I don't know what the chat logs show (I don't care if you show them or not), I do want to point out a few things. First, don't ask for others to report someone. It is considered harassment because you're essentially threatening this person with reports because they are doing something you don't want them to. In my eyes, though, it is mild and I believe that most of the time it won't cause a punishment in and of itself, unless you're constantly spamming it. Still, it really doesn't add anything but more negativity to the situation.

Another reason why you shouldn't ask for reports against another player is because the system doesn't check for the raw number of reports someone has received. Instead, it looks at the percentage of games that player has been reported in. Multiple reports in the same game won't make the system check any faster or harder for punishable behavior. What this means is that a single report in one game is treated just the same as up to 9 reports. So, asking for reports is pretty much pointless, and all it will really do is make an already negative situation worse. Next time you want someone reported, just do so yourself and do so silently. Don't ask for others to report them, and don't even state that you're going to report them, as that will accomplish just as much as asking for reports.

Now, about the intentional feeder. First thing that I should say I'm pretty sure that the system that catches intentional feeders and the system that catches toxic chat function separately from each other. Also, Riot knows that their intentional feeder buster (or whatever you want to call it) is not as harsh as the system that punishes toxic chat. To my knowledge, they have never had a system specifically designed to catch intentional feeders only until recently, so Riot intentionally made it so that it's not so harsh to begin with. This means that there will be some people that get away with it, but I think Riot would rather have that than to have innocent people get punished. However, as time goes on, they will be making improvements so that less and less people get away with it. In fact, there's even a thread where a Rioter talks about this, if you haven't read it yet.

Amen!!!!! I have had so many games where I get an intentional troll and ask team to report and then i get the report for being verbal. because i asked them to stop feeding. it is absolutely ridiculous. Riot caters to trolls in hopes people like your brother get banned and have to make new accounts and spend that money all over again.

Nah, they got my last 10 bucks ever, no more playing this game now. Only way I'll ever get back on is if under some circumstance they see that I have been wronged and deserve another shot with this account. If not, I'm gone for good. I have another I can play on but I do not want to be in a community of players that could care less about root cause and throw out bans to players that are actually trying to play the game and help others when their teams are just plain mean and toxic. I can now do more productive things in my newly found free time instead of dealing with trolls and liars and an organization that won't take 5 minutes to see all the good I've said in chat > than the bad.

Reports do nothing unless you are doing something wrong.

I get reported about 2 out of 3 matches and have not been punished in a VERY long time.

The selected logs would show a "bad" player but they are out of context and no other player responses are included in any of my logs. Why? Cause they're muted prob.

riot only gives your chat, since what the other people say doesn't matter, only what you say. if they tell you to call them noob and you do, that's still punishable.

Context doesn't matter, though. There is no situation where raging at or harassing other teammates is necessary, nor will it ever make anybody suddenly play better (or stop trolling).

I'm guessing when you claim you 'defended yourself', you were actually swinging right back at them, and then muted them. Do you feel the need to get the last word in or something? You can defend yourself if you're truly defending yourself. But actively retaliating against the other people is where you get into trouble. You should have muted them from the get-go. No reason to respond to somebody from the internet who you'll never see again.

If I'm able to mute others, complete my game, take their abuse, complete my game, ask for Help nicely, get insulted, mute and not report anyone as I'm a good person PLAYING A GAME and then get reported by these "people" and get permanent banned. I've only said stfu after their toxic behavior and mute. Why can't others be the same and let stuff go?

What's the purpose of saying stfu? What exactly will it accomplish and how does it contribute to a positive environment? It does nothing.

But I also doubt you're only saying stfu. I hate to keep beating on this, but you need to post the full logs you were provided with your ban. If you don't, people will just continue to assume you're severely sugar-coating your behavior, and won't show your logs because you know they're bad.

It sounds like you've got the process mostly right. Mute the idiots and finish the game. But by your own admission, it sounds like you're doing more than that.

wait so cause the logs show you are toxic, you must not be toxic cause the reports are hand picked. Ever thought maybe you are worse than you think?

Also the logs never include other players cause; they do not matter. Riot's rules are that if someone is a jerk/toxic; you mute report and move on. Never in Riot's rules is it ok to reply in kind.

You do not like it or feel that you can not handle the way riot does things? Don't play their games.

All that was said was "plz help me when they focuse me guys, Leo you're a tank plz engage" and "why are we tower diving" and they went off on me so I muted. Other team asked in all chat what's going on and I said "worst team I've played with in a while, just bad and toxic"

But that's the thing, it DOES matter. If I mute right away and it shows me being kind in the beginning and dealing with a toxic player, their report should not matter. They've lost that right after verbally abusing me.

Flase. Read riots rules. They do not care if you were nice 4/5s of the game or if you are nice to 3 out of 4 players. If you display any punishable behavior you are guilty for the whole game.

Again its riots rules, Live with them or choose to play with another company.

How do I access them? The log they sent me was me being upset in 3 games but all players were muted and they did not include pre or post game chat logs.

Not trying to start a hate thread against Riot just would like the system to be reviewed. I feel like this game is becoming like schools that give every participant a trophy and call them a winner no matter how toxic/how much of a liar they are in their reporting. I love this game and play it well and am a good teammate without toxic players. All my reports were due to toxic players forcing me to mute, when I say anything like a swear it's directed at myself or just being upset since all players are muted. How can this not be seen by riot?
