Just got 14 days banned.

Hello.

I'm playing the game since early season 2. Long time ago (can't remember when, possibly season 3 or season 2) I have received chat restriction for few games. After that I was never punished. I was playing actively until beginning of Season 6 and recently came back to the game.

Well, I just received 14 days ban. The random guy was wishing my whole family to die, so I was stupid enough to respond. I flamed him as well and I got 14 days ban that I guess I deserved.

Next punishment will be permanent ban.

The thing is, I'm not really looking forward to getting permanent banned. I won't unless I get baited and flame back someone.

My question is, does the ban punishment decay over time? What if I'm nice for next 5 years, literally never get reported, and then I violate rules? Or I simply had really, really bad game in 5 years from now that looked like intentionally feeding (even if it was not) - will I still get permanent banned?

And if ban punishment indeed decays over time, then why did I get banned for 14 days after not doing anything wrong for good past 4+ years? Wasn't punished or anything, nor didn't receive any warning from Riot.

Yes, they decay. It'll probably take several months, but it'll happen.

Sounds like you said something zero-tolerance, such as using a slur or telling him to kill himself. Since you've gone so long without slipping up, it shouldn't be difficult for you to simply not do that again.

Posting the chat logs would be the easiest way to figure that out. There are some things which cause a skip in punishment tiers.

OP, you can redeem your account ! Just a friendly warning, almost any small rule break can push it over though.

Also at this point, you need to show positivity. That should hasten the Account to better standing. I'm not saying you have to kiss ass lol. I'm also unsure if you can check your account standing.
