Return of the tribunal?

I am relatively new to posting on these forums and I figured since most people that post here were probably active in the tribunal system before it went into maintenance that you guys would know a thing or two about when it would be coming back.

For all of those that don't remember the tribunal, it was a system where players could read chat logs of toxic players and vote if the person was in fact toxic or innocent. After some time when the case ended players would see the result of the case and then get that put on their record. It also told you the punishment the player received and let you know if you judged incorrectly. There were no rewards to this system besides justice ranking and increasing your accuracy for judging these cases but I found it very fun and entertaining because I got to help the community.

For those that do remember the tribunal and participated in it, don't you guys miss the system? I know bans and punishments have been automated now but a while back it was claimed the tribunal would be up in like a year and a half (Official riot post for another time when I was looking into the tribunal coming back) and that time has passed long ago.

So does anyone have an idea when we will be able to see the tribunal again?

tribunal 2.0 (will interact with honors) and other new behavioral features coming after new client is done with beta phase, and running smoothly.

Can you tell me where you saw this information? This would mean that a new tribunal system is rather close to being implemented (relatively speaking we have waited years for it to come back)

hmm ... it'll require some digging as it was sometime ago (when the alpha client started).

Ghostcrawler and WookieCookie hinted before that Tribunal 2.0 includes better ways to interact with the honor system.

Yrealsdfmaldf (dunno how to spell his name) said that we aren't getting anything now (alpha stage), but said that its safe for me to tell people that new features is coming after the client is up and running smoothly.

Ghostcrawler in his monthly Q&A did say that visibility on the behavioral system is one of the top priorities from a behavioral standpoint. So .. add 1+1 together.

I still think that improved report card (something like this)) will come first before the tribunal 2.0.

That actually is a pretty impressive concept and probably should be implemented into the game. As far as amount of players punished though that may as well be in the actual tribunal rather than a monthly card. I like the idea of it showing my personal standing as a player though.

There's a good chance its not coming back unfortunately.

It was supposed to come back but never did and likely never will.

If Riot can ban and punish more people = More money those players will have to spend on new accounts.

Wouldn't that encourage bringing the tribunal back? If players actively fill the holes that the automated system don't then more people get banned or reformed.

Eh, the tribunal will use ration and reason. The automated machine doesn't need to.

They can still ban people with the automated system and the tribunal active. If they are separate that at least adds to accurate bans. They could even filter players they are unsure of to the tribunal as it is basically a manual review of the account in question.

Actually it might prevent innocent players from getting banned by the players who actually deserve the ban.

IMO the most toxic players are the ones using the report function in the first place as a means to harm someone.

Well of course riot does not want false positives then. Why get a record for punishing players that don't deserve it especially when the community is depicted as having a surplus of toxicity.
