/remake punishing innocent players:

So first of all: I really like the idea that you can type a command that allows the game to never exist.

But the fact that the game did exist for the one player who werent able to join the game (because of loading screen freezes, family problems, bad connection) isnt fair.. Why would the ones who had the problem, be the ones who get punished? Imagine if that one person' mom or dad just had a heart attack and had to go help them and call 911? Or if they simply just couldnt connect to the game because of loading screen freezing or having bad connection? Why would you punish the one person who just really wanted to play League of Legends but couldnt because a major/minor problem appeared.

I just experienced this myself. I joined a game and when we got ingame, my dog accidently tangled itself in a wire and were close to getting killed if i wasnt there to help it. Now i have to sit 20 minutes and wait the next 5 games to be able to queue up. So what did LoL want me to do? Just leave my dog to die or something? Sure seems like it. Now i have to be punished because i literally saved a life. It makes me sick. And i really hope Riot is about to fix it.

You don't get a Leaverbuster punishment for only one leave. You get it when you start leaving an unacceptable number of leaves. The fact that you have a 20 minute punishment shows that you have a history with Leaverbuster, as that is not given out for the first punishment. You need to go through a few lesser punishments first before reaching the 20 minutes. In order to get to this point, you have left a largely unacceptable amount of games in the past. This means that you were already on very thin ice up at this point, so a single leave would indeed trigger a punishment.

It really does seem unfair that you got this punishment after this particular incident, but the fact of the matter is, Leaverbuster does have leniency built into it because Riot knows that sometimes things in real life happen that drag us away from the game. You just happened to use up that leniency in the past, so that is why you were punished. Riot will only tolerate so much leaving before it starts to ruin too many games, even if you are leaving for legitimate reasons.

So, it is ok to punish for the four players who had to deal with an AFK, but it isn't ok to punish the one who did AFK?

You only get leaverbuster if you consistently leave games, not just for one random accident. No, that's not about to change.

Because if someone did have a heart attack you'd have more important things in your life than having a longer wait time to play a video game. If they didn't punish you for leaving, people would do it more ruining the game.

how many times does your family have a heart attack? exactly. not enough times so that its worth to complain about that 1 remake lose you had.

A lot of people here are so irritating, he didnt afk on purpose. I also got the same punishment, losing 36 lp and 20 minute low priority queue even when my last afk was almost a whole year ago. If someone's computer crashes, its not going to reboot and open league in 30 seconds. and here come people saying "dont play if your pc is messed up" but they fail to get it through their thick goddamn skull that we dont know if our computer is having a problem or not until it happens, and you can't really blame the user if something goes wrong because they havent done anything. I quit league anyways, very very boring game, realizing it after 4 seasons that this game is nothing but a complete waste of time and energy.

I thought the /remake punishment was instant even for a first offense. I feel like I read that when it first came out. Leaving after the 3 minute mark and causing a normal 4v5 has that escalating punishment thing. Which kind of sounds a little backwards to me. I get that it's to prevent abuse, but this is another system that has it's flaws. Unless you lack any form of empathy, then it's just perfect.

@B Monkee even if your last ban was a whole year ago, leaverbuster doesn't reset based on time, but the number of incident-free games between punishable offenses, I had to play 100 games consecutively without incident before I was allowed leniency on my next offense where I DCed because of internet. As far as i know, the wait times for low priority queue will never be decreased no matter how many games you play incident free. The leaverbuster system is fair, and even though i got irritated with it too (since i did get a 20 minute wait at one point) i earned that wait because i continued to try and play at times when i knew my internet was not stable and it cost other players the game several times. If you are ready to quit league because it is boring then fine, but don't try and say it is the leaverbuster system, because it isn't. You just don't want to be punished for ruining other people's games.

@Xydem the remake punishment is not instant even for a first offense, if that did happen to you you might want to consider contacting riot support and figure out what happened. Just make sure you aren't forgetting any games where you might have been afk, even if you returned to the game, and like I said to B Monkee, if you returned to playing the game after a long time, know that leaverbuster doesn't return to a lenient state with you based on how long between offenses, it is based on the number of incident-free games between offenses. But it is definitely unfair if you happened to get a low priority queue after a single remake if you have not had any offenses in the past.

@Jungler Pjevsen like zombiemaster said you had to have had a large amount of offenses before you ever got a 20 minute wait time in the first place. It sucks that your dog ended up getting tangled in wires, but if you had been more careful about when you played in the past and not committed punishable offenses then this punishment you received would never have happened. And honestly, I don't mean to bash on Riot, but even the 20 minute queue is nothing but a joke. The only time it really has any effect is if you are trying to play with friends, but even when I got it my friends were willing to wait for me (although i did feel like shit making them wait so i tried to play on my own when i got leaverbuster). Just try not to play at times when you know you are at a greater risk of having to leave the game whether that be from latency (lag), parents, or dogs getting themselves caught in wires (although i swear those little sits do everything they can to mess your games, my dog pulled out my power cord once). After you play enough games without any offenses you will be given some leniency again. Until then the game kinda fcks you even if you have every intention of doing that right thing, but you gotta just tough through it.

The point is: Even though its your first game you havent been able to play in a long time and then you leave it; why should you lose Lp and be punished?

Why am I not surprised a typical LOL punished player has a dog dumb enough to choke himself with the computer wires.
