Got banned for no reason (really) and was wondering if other people have had that experience

Today, I was casually playing on my only account (Silver 3 - Season 5) and I was saving up my IP to play Quinn JG (cuz she be OP). Once I buy her I get a chance to get que'd up in the Jungle role on my first try.

I'm first pick, I am fixing my masteries, and then I get a notification mid me changing my masteries that my champ is banned and that I have to close my client. Which, personally, I thought was very weird.

I re-open my client, input my login info and get a notice that my account is banned for using malicious 3rd party software.

Now if you knew me in real life, I'm not someone that usually cheats to get advantage over people. The only program that I have running with my league of legends is the Razer Scouter which provides me the same information that OP.GG and LOLKING provide, so I do not think that is why I got banned.

I just want an actual reason, because I am banned till year 9001 which is messed up, especially because of all the RP I have bought and all the enjoyment I have found in this game.

This really sucks and I wanted to know if anyone has experience this and what was the outcome, because I did read on the FAQ that perma-bans cannot be lifted.

Community, please halp.

I've seen this episode before...

A Rioter comes along and agrees with you that it seems that you personally didn't use unauthorized software, but that the person you payed to level your account back in October used scripts

But in all seriousness, if this isn't the case, I hope it gets cleared up for you. The guy who posted about getting banned for his mouse three other day has me nervous because I use a mouse with key binding (no combinations/scripts/macros, just individual numbers assigned to certain mouse buttons)

I haven't changed any keybindings. I know my brother has done it for his account because he only plays ADC but I just use the regular, clean install version of League where I have the same advantage from anyone else. So if I got banned for my skill it would be very weird cuz I am not the best at this game.

Nah man, they don't ban for skill, they have identifiable markers they can use to tell the software is being used.

Did your brother get banned too? If so, it's a program on your computer, if not... Well, sorry for your luck, they have identified something else with your account... Most likely account sharing.

He plays on his own computer, so I think he is risk free.

It's just so weird and random for me, because it was a ban out of the blue where I cannot locate any grounds to it.

Hopefully it gets lifted so that I can at least play my placements...

Let's work to see if you have an actual case, or if you're just building false hope and wasting your own time.

The statements that you keep dodging... Account sharing... Yes or no? (RIOT already knows the answer) and you don't need to publicly admit whether it was a paid service to power-level or your third-cousin Eunice who really just wanted to stare at Trundle's big blue muscles...

I have a tendency of not clicking accept on my games because I get distracted with Netflix on my second monitor and because I have put my LOL at 5% volume, but I have only dodged one game this year.

I will just wait and see.

Que dodging won't earn you a ban like this.

Yes, in the past I have shared this account. This was probably fall of last year (the last time). My friend wanted to try out Rek'sai. Even though the reason doesn't really matter, I don't think they would ban me now because of something done almost 6 months ago.

Unfortunately, your "friend" screwed you. He used a third party program. Also, yes, they do their bans for this in waves for things that happened months ago.

Sorry for your luck but when RIOT addresses these issues of malicious software + account sharing, they don't overturn the ban.

More like a 0.000001% chance.

And the money has no bearing on the decision. The money was spent to use cosmetic enhancements on your account, but that account was terminated for EULA violations.

@VyleExyle In the email sent to me it did mention that my account would be back on Feb 22 22:22:22 UTC. But then I also get another notification that the account is permanently banned. Which one do I go by?

No, is I let my cousin use my account and he behaves they aren't going to ban me.

If I let my cousin use my account and he breaks the rules, my account is still getting banned.

You let your "friend" use your account and he used unauthorized software (most likely scripting).

What if I know, for a fact that he does not script.

Would they tell me what the reason was?

Do they send out warnings for these things, usually?

No, this is not something they warn on. Usually people report your account for cheating if something seems wrong. Now since people are just sour creatures, I don't think a single report of cheating triggers a review, but multiple might. Also, routine checks may detect the modifications.

I'm curious, how do you kyou that he doesn't use unauthorized software... As fact... Because if you do have some odd factual proof that may be relevant. (No, "I've know him for 700 years he totes would never do that" doesn't count)

I know this because he is completely illiterate when it comes to computers.

I barely know computers, and if you would compare me to him it would be like the bottom to top of a mountain.

Unless there was an unlikely mistake, you will have a hard time getting your account back. I'm sorry this happened to you, it's definitely not fun to have someone else ruin your stuff.

Note that Riot does not simply ban people for no reason. Or else, I would have been banned by now.

VyleExyle has already said multiple times that in order for Riot to simply ban you because of use of 3rd party programms, even if you deny you using one, it's already likely that this friend you mentioned uses one on your account.

This is just so confusing to me because I know he wouldn't do that.

If I deserve the ban, fine, give it to me. But I honestly don't feel like I deserve it at all, not a single drop. I just want some justification.

I mean, if I actually used hacks and ended up on season 5 on silver 3, I am the worst hacker NA.

Oh, you know he wouldn't do that, but you can't even confirm if he really did it or not. Even still, account sharing for w/e reason is still a bannable offence.

So there was a boosting service that some people got banned for which used some scripts but only got the accounts into Silver... So it could be worse... They payed to get into Silver and got banned

I did not get my account boosted to Silver, that would be the worst investment of my life. I wish that the people that dealt with the support tickets replied just as quickly. This is just getting to sound more ridiculous now that I think about it. At first, I was really stressed and confused, now I am stressed and frustrated because I am being accused of something I did not do (AKA hacking, boosting, using third-party malicious software).

Straight, yes. Account sharing is not allowed for any reason, because it can really mess up the original account's MMR, leading to a fked up matchmaking teams everywhere.

Hey LukyJoe,

You'll want to submit a Support Ticket. They thoroughly investigate all the cases where they detect illegal third party programs, so it's extremely unlikely that checking again will change anything, but you can request that they re-review it.

I suggested providing the entire list of your processes running while you play LoL from your Task Manager just in case they might see something falsely triggering the red flag, and anything you might have installed in your game files as well.

The "9001" isn't a year, but a ban code they use to track the ban internally.

I have opened a support ticket, but this just frustrates me because I don't do anything to hurt the game, and have never even been muted on this account, never got any sort of warnings, and have always been receiving honors in games. And even though many of these are unrelated, I just support the community and even if you watch my past streams that I have recorded on twitch, there is no trace of hack or assistance. There aren't even viewers on my streams too item 3070

Here at riot we ONLY ban people for nothing. If you want to play forever you must either prove you have stockholms syndrome or be a total jerk in every game.

I would assume the notification of permanent ban, but RIOT can elaborate, have you heard from them?

Unfortunately, unless RIOT determines they made an unlikely mistake, you will need to begin working on a new account due to the admission of sharing your account and the data that they used to determine unauthorized 3rd party software
