BEWARE OF FREE RP SCAMS

Yesterday, one of the people on my friends list sent me this message saying free RP was available. IT IS ALWAYS A SCAM. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FREE RP.(caps intended)

How this one works is it takes you to the website in the link and you either put in your LoL username and password or your LoL email and the password for that. The person who sent you the message will probably ask for the 6 digit code that was sent to your email. THIS WAS NOT A FREE RP CODE, IT IS A SECURITY CHANGES CODE TO CHANGE YOUR EMAIL OR YOUR PASSWORD. Once that happened you will be booted off your account because someone else logged in(the hacker) and the only way to get it back is to contact riot support at: Riot Support. It only took about 12 hours for the employee to reset my account so hurry up and do it ASAP.

Good Luck!

You have to be a complete buffoon, broke, or desperate to fall for any kind scam like this. If anyone is asking for your information, it's a good idea not to give it out.

Pretty much this. I've unfriended several people who were dumb enough to get their account hacked. (their accounts are used to spam "free RP" messages to other people)

while the isnt free rp the are sites like skin preview that do allow you to swap skins and stuff and install custom ones.

Also scams, or third party programs that can get you banned.

ZenGamr71 votes

Yeah like MKLoL, you can be banned for using the jungle timers in that but not for using fake skins.

Using MKLoL at all can subject your account to punishment because there's no way to know what you're using it for. Just don't use it if you don't want to lose your account.

Dear Moderator...

You guys put up with alot of shit here lol. I'm sure youve seen your fair share of toxicity and trolling. But i just want to say one thing to you....

Thank you, for putting up with my and the rest of the communities bs that may or may not be directed toward riot or the moderators. Thank you for your patience and willingness to do this. You make the boards possible.

Good Luck on the rift and hope your next match is a gg.

Actually anyone using MKLoL AT ALL, even just for custom skins, were banned as Riot does not trust the program. The best software for custom skins is Wooxy as it does not put your account in any risk of being banned because the only feature it has is custom skins.

the one i menioned isnt a scam and it falls under custom skins so its allowed but the is alot of bannable shit out there

ZenGamr71 votes

You can install custom ones but never put out your username and password or any of your LoL info on any site besides official riot websites like this one.

official riot websites like this one.

Regarding that I'd like to add: If at all possible, don't click links. Just open the website as you would always, by typing in the adress in a browser and try to find the thing you were ilnked from there. Clicking links in officially looking mails can easily take you to phishing websites that are meant to look like the official website but really aren't.

I don't remember how many mails I got from "PayPal" about suspicious activity on my account, with a link to "their" site so I log in. And when I go to their website manually and log in, there's no such warning.

[Edit: Don't even click links when the adress seemingly is written... it's way to easy to spoof links. If you don't know what that means, click the following (safe) link: na.leagueoflegends.com]

Yup there's no free RP. All scams. If you really want some extra RP check out bing rewards. Legal and you gotta work for it. Just google LoL bing rewards

KVbqbFsC8e1 votes

That hasn't worked for a couple months now. Bing no longer gives out those Burger King cards you could buy RP with.

They come and go.

Giveaways?

ZenGamr71 votes

No, there are never free RP giveaways except for a twitch stream or something like that.

Except in season 3 when all of their severs went down, an Riot gave afflicted players 2k rp. Never forget.

i used to say this, but its actually very easy to get scammed, i think in 15 years i lost concentration once and got my account stolen and retrieved within a 12 hour period of time. i knew i was scammed before they even logged into the account.

it was a few years ago, riot had an announcement that you can go to their link and vote on i dont know what (really cant remember), this was an official announcement, i clicked it, logged into the site, but did not vote, closed everything down and went to sleep.

next morning i saw multiple people say there was a reward in ipboost for voting.

and in one of the threads talking about the reward someone was like "everyone should vote to get their ipboost. link: boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/8HZdwx9E-beware-of-free-rp-scams

clicked the link, it pulled out the site i saw the day before, but i was logged out, logged in and after logging in i instantly realized there is no way i should be logged out because i logged in the previous day.

i didnt even wait for confirmation i got scammed, submitted a ticket right off the bat for it. got the account back within 12 hours. the link was masked and it was like 8 a.m. i havent had my coffee and i wasnt paying attention.

I got scammed by a friend who got hacked, he said there was a free skin website, so I clicked it, inputted my details but then he told me to change my password, so I did that. It also helps that I was still logged in at the time, so when they attempted to log in, they failed and I was warned

If people are actually dumb enough to fall for this, they deserve it.

I changed my password do you think that will help?

Hey there everyone. 11/26/2017 is today's date. I just logged on and a player from my friends list messaged this to me:

http://naleagueeoflegensdrp.com Hey Bro Get 6000 RP Fast it's limited i tried and its work on me

I instantly saw through this because legends is spelled wrong on the link, and secondly I know there is no such thing as FREE RP. I suggest we all pay attention to detail when someone is offering you something that is too good to be true.

Oh and you should probably report the person as I am about to do the same. Good Luck! RIPERINOS

If you guys are taking the risk to go on these websites, remember to change your password and email afterwards like I did.
