logs and reform card please.
You can be immediately permanently banned for truly egregious violations of the community standards. If he has his chat logs we on the boards will be happy to take a look at the severity of chat -- Riot HAS downgraded a few bans found to be too severely applied.
While it is not common for players to be given a permanent suspension on their first punishment, it can happen in the case of extreme toxicity. This may include, by is not limited to, racism, homophobia or other hate speech, violent or threatening commentary. If your friend would like us to review his logs and give him an idea of what may have escalated his account directly to a permanent suspension, he is free to post the chat logs (contained in the Reform Card). The quote below is taken from the Instant Feedback System FAQ page.
PUNISHMENTS GENERALLY FOLLOW A BASIC ESCALATION PATH:
- First Offense: 10 Game Chat Restriction
- Second Offense: 25 Game Chat Restriction
- Third Offense: Two Week Suspension
- Fourth Offense: Permanent Suspension
However, it is possible to skip to a Two Week or Permanent suspension based on the severity of the behavior in the game. Excessive negative behavior can result in a Two-Week or Permanent suspension at any time without having a chat restriction on the account.
While on the Boards we can give insight as to what may have triggered the ban, posts here are predominantly answered by the Arbiters and other players. Your friend will need to submit a ticket to Player Support if he would like to discuss a potential appeal of the suspension. However, be aware that bans issued by the Instant Feedback System for toxicity are almost never overturned.
