WRONGFULL BANNED PLEASE HELP ME

Hello everyone , i've been playing league since season 4. I created my account and took screenshots at every "milestone" (ex: first champ purchased , first refunds , first rp purchase , first gift , first penta, etc..) . I have never been banned for toxicity or anything . I went to paris as an exchange student and had to play in different computers there . I've spent all of my savings on rp (around 700euro because i cant buy riot points in my homeland) . Unfortunately my account somehow got hacked once . I created a support ticket to get it back and after 2 weeks of providing informations about the account i finally got it back. Few months later i logged in and found out that my account was permanently banned , so i had to reconfirm my ownership to the support agent but they infomed me that my account has been suspended because it was "compromised many times" ! I created others tickets trying to find a way to get my account back , they kept telling me the same thing "Your account has been compromised many times" , i told the support agent that it literally got hacked once and gave him a screenshot of my support tickets , all he had to say back is ""As mentioned previously, we cannot get into details related to the investigation that was performed for your account nor all the factors and circumstances that led to the permanent suspension."" Please help me , i've put so much effort,time and money and this is what i am getting in return ? not even a solid argument why my account has been permanently banned

If you are lucky a Riot employee will answer you here, making a post on Reddit will surely help aswell, many Riot employees are there answering stuff.

They respond to me within 24 hours. If you keep replying to each of their responses, they'll switch between people usually and dive deeper into your case.

Tantram is the TRUTH. The only discrepancy here is that OP states that it was, _"Only Once" _ and RIOT states that is occurred, "Many Times".

I've seen this once or twice before. I believe there is a limit to how often an account can be recovered: past that point it's partially your responsibility to select a safer password and/or guard your information better.

I can't speak for the WHY of this process, but I think that is likely what happened.

I can make a general guess as to the why. (I used to do something similar to support work for another company.)

Constant recoveries are a sign of one of two things. The first is that you are up to something sketchy, trying to game the system in some way and then using support to cover your ass after the fact. I'm not saying that OP is doing this and I don't believe they are. But, unfortunately, people suck and many people do pull crap like that.

The second is a sign that you are very poor at keeping your information safe: in which case your account becomes a security liability. So, companies lock it down for good in order to prevent that liability from taking root. This is probably the case with the OP, depending on how many times that they've had to get their account recovered.

It's a crappy fact, but a fact all the same. It's the reason why "account security" is so highly stressed with companies like Riot.

Hacked once, Banned twice? Was it 2 permabanns or just 1 permaban and 1 2 week suspensions. I have questions. See this list that I will post. Then that's messed up. I also just got my account back . I think regardless of what happened, if your banned once Riot wont get your account back. That's what happened to TYLER1

That is ridiculous though. Surely there is a system whereby the owner is required to verify and reset password everyday via email, and if not, why not?

This sounds like a case of "we've dealt with this account too many times and we can no longer be bothered." Rather than using any other plausible system that could be in place to safeguard against this. Hell, even Battle.net and SWTOR use random number generating authentication.

The issue is that at some point you have to ask yourself the question: Is the person "recovering" the account really the account owner? There are people who sell accounts, then "recover" them and stuff like that. There are sometimes people who share their account with another person and thus get it "hacked" by somebody who simply knew their password. There was one case I've seen on the forum where there were actually two people that kept recovering the same account claiming it was theirs.

Generally speaking, after a certain amount of recoveries it becomes very suspicious.

Now, I absolutely agree that Riot should offer better functionality to protect your account, but ultimately they can only help you protect your account; you do need to put a minimum amount of effort into keeping your account safe yourself.

But that's the point. Riot makes it relatively easy for that to happen.

You sign into Steam from an unverified IP, you get an email with a verification code. You can buy authenticators that have an endless list of generated numbers that you have to enter every time you log in.

There are things on their end they could do, all of which is automated, that could help people protect their accounts. Lazy, in other words.

Riot isn't doing everything they could, but to say that Riot makes it relatively easy is, frankly, bullshit. It's pretty easy to keep an account protected by a password safe, hence it's extremely cheap to blame Riot for people failing to keep their account safe.

If I get hacked tomorrow, I'll know it was probably because I tend to reuse passwords. And I know that I have nobody to blame but me. Could my account have been protected better if Riot had multiple authentications? Sure. But it could have also been protected by me not being a lazy idiot.

As an Sr IT profession in a global company that has offices in Asia/EU/UK and beyond: Riot has a lot of the blame as 2 factor authentication has been pretty standard since about 2000. Things that are in constant developement (granted they generate revenue) skins champs etc. Things not very visable if they happen at all, mobile/token app. I was able to manage my auctionhouse in wow on all my accounts in like 2008. It's only been about 12 months since we even got the ability to chat via Lesgue app. The functionality is so low it's really not even worth the space on my phone. IMHO they need to invest into protecting the accounts a little more. I would be devastated if this happened to me. I just crossed the $1500 spent...

My thoughts is they assumed that while you played on a computer in Paris, it assumed your account was being accessed from a different source. Basically, the system is saying your account has been compromised because the data is assuming a different source is what is got into your account. Did you talk to support and inform them about that? It could be internally screwing with their information.

its possible, but people play from different locations, even countries when they go on holiday, all the time. The system doesn't only detect the location as a mean to know if an account has been compromised or not.

But it could be. I hope it is, it might be an easy fix then.

There's only so many times one can claim an account got hacked before it looks like you're sharing your account or your password is...

Someone could hack your account and get your info, then based on when you play, use your account during off hours? send gifts using your RP? etc...

Just because you get hacked doesn't mean you've lost access to your account. It depends on what the hacker's intent is.

Riot Support is unable to type out messages to every. Single. Person. It is too much of a work load for a small team. All you have to do is reply to their reply and they will get back to you

They're not botted messages.

They're templates, there's a difference.

An actual person does indeed read the ticket, and can choose to send back a template if it covers the reply. Yeah, it may suck and feel lame, but when you reply to their reply they usually manually type back to you.
