Hextech locked from restricted players

Riot I think that excluding restricted people from this new Hextech thing is a little too much. The right thing to do is not to exclude restricted players or ex restricted players from a huge piece of this game. Especially how people get restricted is already messy, its easy for people to get reported on such small things and get excluded on a now, huge piece of the game. The hextech crafting thing is the only thing you can grind on this game and if restricted players cant get a reward from that, then they simply wont play the game riot... I am a ex restricted player and to put things short, I got a little toxic at a intentionally ranked feeder. I got chat restricted and cant use the hextech thing anymore until Im "reformed".

My biggest issue is the whole "lets punish people for something they did in the past, with no warning this was ever going to happen" thing. If people knew there was going to be worse punishments than a 10 game chat ban then they may not have acted the way they did. Furthermore, its like saying "The speed limit is now 35, down from 45, so anyone who has ever driven faster than 35mph ever in their life will now have their license suspended."

My point is, they should have implemented the behavior ban STARTING NOW...meaning anyone who gets punished from the hextech release and forward will be suspended from hextech...why would they punish past offenders in a way they never saw coming. Its almost Nazi-like.

This was announced when the system was initially announced, in the pre-season several months ago.

No "No. Players who are chat or ranked restricted or currently banned from play cannot earn or unlock chests through Champion Mastery. Once they’ve reformed, they’ll be eligible for rewards again."

Currently, as in present tense. They said you only do not receive awards if you are CURRENTLY punished, not for past actions.

While Lin (Lyte) said the developer is still ironing out details on the point at which a player's account will be cut off, he confirmed that players who are consistently tagged for negative behavior will not get any drops. Likewise, they will not be able to use crafting, where undesired drops can be traded in for something else.

From the interview 4 months ago. Currently, I'm able to use the hextech crafting system but not collect chests. That plus the FAQ makes me 90% certain that this is a day 1 glitch.

I don't think a Rioter has given a solid answer to what "reform" means yet, but chances are it means you'll need to clear your record to be considered reformed, which I believe is 3 months of not being punished?

Essentially after getting punished, you're on parole to prove you've learned your lesson. If you get punished again during that time, you're moved to the next punishment tier. If you ride out the parole period with no infractions, you're considered reformed.

This isn't much different from those times they gave out free RP or whatnot as random rewards to people who hadn't had punishments in the past X time period, except the Hextech thing will be there waiting for you as opposed to being a 1 time reward.

But again, this is all speculation. Best to just wait on an official statement instead of being swept up in the fear-mongering crowd.

Yeah, what you said seems right but Im a bit scared on how long "reform" means. I have been chat restricted twice in a short period of time for getting toxic at intentional feeders in ranked lol. So considering what you talked about, the punishment tiers. Then I don't see myself being anywhere near being reformed to them... Thanks for the info though.

It doesn't make any sense I get it if you do it while I am being punsihed but I served my punishment I may or may not have learned from it but thats not the point. The point is I am not currently under any punishment

I don't know what this hextech crafting is, nor do I care... it literally has zero effect on the actual game.

Well maybe if you understood what this hextech crafting is maybe you can see where Im coming from. I don't know SO MUCH about it but basically you get a chance on getting keys for winning games and chest for earning an S on a champion. Something like that. Those keys and chest can lead to free skins and free champions that you can permanently keep if you have enough shards (earned by disenchanting loot). There has never been anything like this so that is why I consider it "A huge piece of this game".
