The new report system is not efficient/scary enough.
I rarely ever complain or partake in the discussion of issues people have with this game, but I feel like this isn't brought up nearly as much. Automated system is not cutting it - within many games I've played this season, going up from bronze V, I feel like this is most poison-inflated and hostile this community has been within the last 4 seasons I've played. And as far as I see it, it's not improving.
Now, I am not a saint myself. I threw fits in game before, I was reported (rightfully so), but I don't think I ever had this urge in a game where I had to mute my team entirely until this season. As an example, last game, I had an alleged challenger smurf with two player of mid-bronze level - jungle and support.
Jungle did some interesting actions, but the support went AFK in lane, facilitated the enemy team taking the tower, and then just followed the smurf around, without warding or providing any sort of assistance to people outside of a premade. Hell, I was given shit for something what was outside of my power in early game.
The enemy team just collapsed onto itself, with their top going AFK and their mid being demoralized.
I would've been fine with the game just ending, if not for the brilliant idea of our smurf to prolong the game to stack his KDA (as well as his teammates).
This is a piece of post-game chat which honestly impressed me in many ways: > Smurf mid: I dont need your honor Smur mid: I've had more than you eat --left the room. -- left the room. -- left the room. Enemy mid: What? Hibiki Kohaku: You are eating a report though. -- left the room. -- left the room. Smurf mid: because? Enemy mid: Literally makes 0 sense Smurf mid: ? Hibiki Kohaku: This is the most unsportsmanlike like behavior if I ever saw one. Smurf mid: what did I do? Smurf mid: draggin the game out? Enemy mid: I've had more than you eat - What? Hibiki Kohaku: You literally tried to stall the game out to humilate our opponents. Enemy mid: What does that.. mean? Smurf mid: more kda Hibiki Kohaku: That's plain disrespectful as shit. Enemy mid: Its called "Being a dick" Smurf mid: I've had more honors than the amount of meals you eat Hibiki Kohaku: Not even people in FGC do that. Hibiki Kohaku: And FGC is cancer. Smurf mid: is that why you are in bronze? Hibiki Kohaku: I don't play this game. Smurf mid: then just dont play ranked Smurf mid: being in bronze is a shame Hibiki Kohaku: You can brag about smurfing all you want Smurf mid: ? Hibiki Kohaku: It makes zero difference to me. Smurf mid: jsut a good game Hibiki Kohaku: It's not even relevant. Smurf mid: but you should feel bad Hibiki Kohaku: It's not about skill. Smurf mid: for being carried Smurf mid: it is Hibiki Kohaku: It's about human decency
On which earth is this considered any sort of sportsmanlike behavior--humiliating your opponent after they already just want to it to be over? The only thing I can mark this kind of behavior under is harassment and unsportsmanlike attitude, but even then, I don't think the automated system can do justice when people are not reading the log of the game.
Mind you this is not the only case where this kind of behavior occurs. I just had a jungler a few days ago who decided to abandon the game because I took the enemy blue, which I was supposed to leave for him for some reason.
From my perspective, this is the worst this community ever was. I don't play this game consistently. I enjoy just playing ranked once in a while, and I don't think I perform mega poorly all-in-all for where I am. But I was never blamed for being abandoned in the bot lane and then harassed over poor performance and be told that it's shameful to be in that position on the ladder.
Crank up the bans maybe? Make people more afraid to break the rules? I shouldn't have to mute the majority of my team every other game. If anything, while playing sporadically, I am getting less and less inclined to continue playing.
