A very big issue as of recent

So, I was playing some games on my Smurf with some friends and noticed that people on our team were performing very poorly and with 0 responsiveness, this is a big issue known as botting, people are using 3rd party botting applications to level Smurfs, identifying them is simple, they play extremely poorly, they commonly have a name then 2 or 3 numbers after the name, always take the summoners heal and ghost or occasionally barrier and ghost and build recommended items, they do not respond at all as they are bots, this makes low level games very difficult for those actually playing the game.

The same way we prove that someone is toxic and causing problems and not just getting instigated. Consistent reports.

Most people can tell a beginner from a bot. If you get reported as a bot 70% of the time, your account is being played by a bot.

how much is 70% though? 10 reports is 1 game minus the "bot" so if 6 people were to report that'd be 70% approximately. what are you comparing the 70% to? games played? people reported vs honored? even if you were to report the "bot" 1000 times you would have to have proof. riot cant just take away someones account because of "suspected botting" if they could and did then think how many people would lose their accounts in ranked just because they played poorly.

70% of the time means 7/10 games. It doesn't matter how many people report you per game, because it only takes one report to get the game sent to Riot.

you can't just assume. if you were to say "well they dont talk" - lots of people dont talk. they take heal and ghost - i use ghost and heal quite aggressively. i also like barrier on certain champs especially if im playing support. okay well they have numbers at the end of their names - so do most restart accounts and people who've been perma banned.

the bottom line is a bot is not easy to identify. sure you may have your suspicions and you can report them for "cheating" but unless the bot is following a very obvious pattern and is consistently being reported to riot and riot is watching every video from beginning to end for hints and proof - which consists of "not talking following an algorithm for movement and play and numbers at the end of name" then you and i along with the rest of the community are just out of luck. at the very best all riot could do is send a message to the email address associated with the account and ask for confirmation about the accounts owner. if someone replies to that email since most botted accounts are overseen by an actual account owner then the paper trail ends. just like how if you stay inactive for a year riot sends a messages saying "log in to keep your account" all you have to do is log in once and your accounts deadline is reset.

you mean like how people dont report for trolling and negativity just because they had a bad game or day? you mean like how people dont report for intentional feeding just because you had 3 more deaths than everyone else?

Not 70% of the time, no. The majority of people only report when tthere's genuine toxicity/feeding, the majority of the time. That's why when people come on the boards complaining about their bans, they always have a toxic chat log. The system bans people correctly 99.99993% of the time. And for that 0.00016% (that's 1/6000 bans) that do get banned incorrectly, a simple support ticket fixes it.

do you play with randomly generated teams? do you play with friends? i solo play 100% of my matches. unless by some miracle of fate im getting that .00016% then i can promise you the truth is that most players who report are belligerent. the players who actually act out and deserve a report are usually over looked for their k/d/a and dont even get me started on mob mentality. if there are duo's in the room you can forget it if you are innocent. did you ever read "how to kill a mockingbird"? if not i highly recommend it. there's a grain of truth in every fiction.

think about it like this. if you knew of a way to get someone's account permanently banned. permanently deleted. would you try to do it if you could? you may say no, but i know for a fact lots of people who play league would do it just because they could. especially if they didnt like you or if you upset them or played poorly. so this person spends all game shouting raving ranting and blah blah blah right? then at the end of the game the "bot" says "im not a bot" what can you do? so if thats the case what's stopping a "botter" from using an algorithm to type in a message at the end of the game saying "im not a bot" every 2-5 matches?

There are still plenty of times though when those instances could be real players. It could be nee players. It could be connection error. It could just be someone who can't connect to the chat. I've been called a Bot hundreds of times in aram and even a few times in summoners rift. The bottom line is just because it seems like a Bot doesn't mean it is a Bot. Yes, you're probably right 75% of the time in aram because that's one of the easiest game modes to Bot. It requires no lock in or champion selection. The bots follow a simple follow friendly attack enemy coding structure and that's why they act like they do. However that doesn't mean everyone who clings to your champ like a lost child is a Bot. Maybe they really are a lost child. The game allows for a lot of young players to play. You need more proof. Speculation isn't proof. If there was a scan to check for hitting software that might help, but that's about it and it would be a major move on riots end towards privacy infringement. That's a lot to go through just to get rid of some bots in player matches. Just report them for now and riot will keep an eye out.

There's already a report feature for that. it's called "cheating". But that brings up my next point. How do you prove it's a bot account and not just an anti-social beginner who doesn't have creativity with their account's name? Especially from riots perspective?

I once found a website with a list of bots for League. I can find the link if I still search for it, but I still have no idea on how to approach support about it.

theres a program client side, my buddy used it in a game he used to play, but it was able to read the game and detect if when he got killed the person used an aim bot or other "assistance" to achieve otherwise much higher skill level than they could on their own, yes his account was deleted from the game and the game since went offline but there are programs not likely as good but helpful for preserving a log of events in case a botting report came up. but I couldn't tell you what they are since I myself have no need for them and my buddy is deployed
