Inappropriate Discussions

Moderators will be looking for topics discussing: Religion Sex Politics Any social issues, though some exceptions may be appropriate (e.g., internet legislation)

I just learned that a certain religion does not actually exist (it hasn't been accepted as a genuine religion by those who are supposed to "judge" them), and I was wondering if I am allowed to say that to people.

We end up with a lot of bs in the chats and it's often a good time. But I don't want to get banned if I let my mind slip and I write this info in-game or w/e.

Will I get banned for writing that "### is not actually real" or something like that?

: It's a fact : I don't intend to start a religious war : I don't intend to troll or be toxic : Just wondering if I'm allowed to write that.

No, that's not it. I mean.. the "religion" I am speaking of is vastly known and has a lot of "followers" but still they remain unaccepted by... uhm.. society? I don't remember who chooses if they are accepted or not, but the fact remains that they don't even get into the oxford dictionary because they aren't accepted as a religion (whereas you'll find things like Christianity and others like Buddhism).

So.. I'm not sure where I stand, because it's not something fictional but many people "belong" to it? It's like a "self-declared" religion.

a. No, you cannot discuss Scientology either. b. Why would you need to discuss this on a video game forum? Go to reddit c. This is the player behavior forum, it is intended to discuss player behavior related topics d. This is the NA discussion forum. While you're allowed to post on here, it does make one wonder why you chose to post on the NA boards instead of the EUW?

Well, I'm talking about in-game. I'm not often on forums. And I don't really care much for anything other than server status here. But there are many fun comments in the chats, and I'm scared of crossing lines, but at the same time I like sharing information.

Yes, no. I don't know how many Scientologists you think are playing League (on the European servers), but if you're scared of crossing lines, it seems a bit counterproductive to be dancing right around said line.

If you're talking about in-game, why did you quote the Boards rules? These are not the same rules as in-game because this is a different discussion format. You can't talk about those things here at all currently, regardless of whether you think a certain religion isn't real. This isn't the place for that type of discussion.

When they say "you are not allowed to discuss religion" they are aiming it to the "main stream" religions: Cristianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism, are the most common ones so you are not allowed to start a war about that.

You can talk about the "Spaghetti Monster Religion" tough.

Feminism is a religion and it's discussed / proselytized regularly on these forums.

That being said; I agree that religion isn't appropriate for these board subsections, so why not make one specifically for that purpose?

"Modern" Feminism is a religion. I'm a feminist, in the sense that I'm actually a "humanitarian" or "egalitarian". This "new feminism" is actually just a plague that I hope gets erradicated ratter soon, before further damage is done.

That being said; I agree that religion isn't appropriate for these board subsections, so why not make one specifically for that purpose?

Maybe they could do just that, but "Off-Topic" should include all types of topics. I guess discussing Religion or Sex is not necessary on for a game. I do believe that politics should be an exception, since politics actually influence our life in a big way so we should discuss those things.

It's important to consider not your intentions, but how your statements will be perceived by others. If your statements serve to offend them (even without the intention to offend them), it's best not to discuss them in that capacity on the Boards. Discussing the Spaghetti Monster Religion mentioned in another comment would be okay, as it won't be construed as offensive to another individual and is seen as a pretty common joke/meme. Hope that answered your question!
