Perma banned for light tilt, wtf riot?

I was playing league after taking a break for about 3 months and I open my game to find out that I have been permanently banned, this is unacceptable, I was nowhere near as toxic as most players who are let off easily here are the logs. Also, I spent 30 euro on skins and stuff and im being robbed like that

You be the judge as to whether my ban was deserved or not, I know that riot won't return this ban but at least the community can learn that it's really easy to get banned

If you received a 14-day ban within a few months, the next punishment (of any level) is escalated to a permanent ban unless your behavior has improved enough to drop a punishment tier in the intervening time.

Calling for reports, constant harassing his own teammates.

Not the most toxic logs in the world, but enough to trigger something. And like Djinn said, if he had a recent 14-day ban, anything leads to a perma at that point.

Agreed. Other people might not care about that in game, but a majority of his chat is geared towards things that have little to do with the game.

I don't think rank effects whether you're toxic or not. What's more relevant is that neither of us are in his region, so our opinions of what is normal is moot on a different region.

I personally encounter this type of stuff rarely (I'm on the same server as the op). However, from my experience both in game and on the boards I strongly suspect that negativity breeds negativity.

I don't mean rito puts you in a prisoner island queue, but people who are negative - even slightly - in general will receive similar replies. Thus creating the illusion such chat is normal.

That in turn makes it difficult for them to reform, as they get fewer good examples.

It's not HUGELY toxic, but on an account with a history of bad behavior it has some problematic elements.

In additional to the insults (you're trash) and the threats/comments on giving up (open top, I can't be bothered to deal with you), there's a lot of minor insults, blaming teammakes, and the "ez" at the end of the game. It would probably just earn a chat restriction (or just some points towards a chat restriction) normally, but it shows that the warnings up to and including the 14-day ban weren't listened to.

The ban system does not care if a single instance is worth a permanent ban unless it is applying a permanent ban on a first offense, which almost never happens. What it looks for is Improvement of behavior after a player has been warned that their behavior is not acceptable. Even repeated and persistent minor toxicity will eventually earn a permanent ban if the player does not take steps to reform their behavior.

In short, a permanent ban is not reserved for only the worst of the worst in terms of the type of toxicity that is used. It is reserved for anyone who proves to be a repeated toxic influence on the game community and shows no inclination towards changing that.

I explained this earlier in a comment you yourself responded to. These logs have a few insults, a few instances of blaming other players on his team, and ending a game with "ez". This is all considered rude and unsportsmanlike behavior.

Blaming is not the same as pointing out mistakes. Blaming goes farther and usually involves an insulting tone.

Dude, you're expected to behave like a decent human being. If you wouldn't say such things to somebody's face in public, you can bet that you shouldn't say it to somebody in-game. It's not that hard to be a normal decent person.

You don't have to personally agree, and you are free to act as you think fit in game. I'm merely pointing out, from my experience with the what the punishment system looks for, what was probably identified as toxic in this log.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter if you particularly agree with it or if I particularly agree with it. What matters is that this is what the system has learned from how the community reports behavior, and neither you nor I have the ability to change it individually.

He's not. He provided his argument. He pointed out what lines are considered harassment or toxic in OP's chat. And quite frankly I agree with his analysis.

I don't play League to see people being negative or harassing others. Regardless of if it's to me or others. If OP didn't heed the warning in their 14 day ban, this is the next step.

I don't believe we are arguing. I am stating what I believe this system considers toxic, and you are stating that you don't personally believe that that behavior is toxic. Argument - an exchange of diverging or opposite views

To my knowledge the difference between an argument and a conversation where you share opposing views is that an in an argument you are attempting to convince the other person to change their perspective, where is in the conversation you are both simply sharing yours.

Here, however, I honestly don't mind if you don't agree with me. My goal, as always, is to provide my insight on how the system works so that other players can avoid falling to the same pitfalls.

If you want to have a dicsussion about whether or not the system is too loose in its definition of toxicity that's fine, but it's not an argument I want to derail this thread with. :)

Given that many major companies are finding their customer base is actually frustrated with toxicity (Blizzard, Riot, Facebook, Twitter, etc), I suspect that's something Riot has looked at both sides of. :)

obviously, the management team at tencent has not been alerted to the potential risks to it's business via the implementation of "politicized" in game communication systems

will do my best to bring this to the attention of the owners and shareholders so they can avoid this business turning into yesterday's platform by alienating it's customers :)

Are you going to say that it's not worth ANY repercussions? That it is 100% not harassment, negativity, or toxic in any way shape or form? Because unless you truly feel that way, and if you do, I honestly can't understand it, it is said after a 2-week ban that the next incident will be a permanent ban, there is zero tolerance and ambiguity in such.

I am going to say that yes. It was 5% harassment and 10% negative. 15% toxicity level.

I have been a jungler like this one and I have been a top laner in this situation. I understand both perspectives, and in a ranked game things get heated. Thats what I just saw, Nothing wrong with it.

If you fail to show reform after a 2 week ban, even light incidents can net you the permaban. Since there's this gap of play that started 15 days prior to your permanent ban, I'm gonna assume this is the case.

Maybe Rito is offensive, not sure though. Bans aren't really 100% logical. I found some people being really tilting and never getting banned, while I trolled one game becouse I had enough of my "Report noob" team, and got banned for 14days after a month. It is really hard to make them accurate, though.

tbh I am sure that this guy was just let go of the 14 day ban and was trying to reform, but the way the system is made does not enforce reform it shows that a word like trash could get you banned, and honestly this guy was probably having a bad game and he spit out an insult or two but he definitely does not deserve a ban, I have seen much worse behaviour go unnoticed.

He was already on really thin ice. He either exhibited toxic/negative behavior through 3 punishment tiers or used hate speech. In any case, that was his last chance and he blew it. He should take that ban to learn seek help and control himself better before returning.

I was having 2 bad games let a few harsh words/phrases slip and get a permaban, if thats your way of reforming people then I don't think I will continue with playing your game, most people in my position would make a new account, but no, also I do believe rank and money input alters the way this system works, my friend who is plat 3 has 3000+ hours and has spent over 200 euros has never gotten a single ban or chat restriction and I have been in some of his games and he swears and makes racial slurs, but where is his ban, he himself was gobsmacked when he saw my logs and that I got permabanned.

Just because your friend is lucky doesn't mean he's any less guilty of the same stuff you are. Gotta take responsibility for your own actions, which would have been a great lesson for you to have learned after your 14-day.

This is probably a post 2 week punishment which means any punishment afterwards is a permaban regardless of how small the infraction is.

The permaban reason was probably a combination of both the 2 week ban and this last punishment put together as the explanation.
