Troll Report

My idea is to add a report button during the champion select phase of a ranked game. The report would say something like, "Report for trolling". How this would work would be if three players report the same player for "trolling", then if someone dodges they are not penalized with the wait timer. If all four of the other team members report for trolling, the game exits champion select and the player reported for trolling is put on a wait timer. Trolling defined as a player trying to take a lane already spoken for, bringing a champion to a position where it is not at all meant to be, etc.

My inspiration for this idea came from a ranked game where the first pick asked for lane preferences and someone said ahri main, he then banned ahri. After that, (since we were the second team to pick, two picks at once), the summoner below him ended up picking nasus after a long wait, called top, and locked in. Several seconds later, the first pick chose irelia, locked in, and also called top. When it came time for me to pick a champion, I didn't. And as the timer approached zero, one of my teammates thanked me. Everyone knew he was trolling. ...And then I went through the low priority queue timer.

This report button never has to send any information for devs or moderators to deal with. If three of the players agree that someone is trolling, (more than possible for a duo queue), it will not have someone that dodges to have a queue wait timer. Also, 3/4 of the non-trolling team = 75%. The number of people that reported the troll would not be shown, meaning, they still have the risk if they leave. But if Everyone else agrees and reports the same person, then the game should exit and put punish the reported. If you have read all of this, thank you for your time and please consider it.

So u want them to add report option for things that are not against rules? What woul be point in that? It would just give people tool to blackmail people that dont wanna play meta.

Let me first say that any summoner can choose what lane they want and with what champion they play. Though, I agree it can be a nuisance when someone auto-locks, or plays a champion in a position that doesn't necessarily work well for that champion. I also agree that it is common curiosity to call your role or suggest a preferred role. When stuff like this happens I myself just kind of role with whatever combination I'm put with. By doing this I have a lot more fun during the game, rather than just complaining, arguing, or giving crap to the player that is supposedly "trolling." However, there are people out their that like to try new things and test them out in order to hopefully create a "new meta" or "breaking the meta" as some would say. My other problem with this is (If there ever was a button like this) that the definition of "trolling" is just so vague and can be put into other categories of reports such as griefing, intentionally feeding, and refusing to communicate with team, etc. However, even those reports can be a stretch especially if those players are not doing any of those things or creating a negative atmosphere for others. In the end, summoners can choose who they want to play and where they want to go, that is the rules.

Sincerely, Swallower
