Just wanted to say goodbye, and that as a community I hate most of you.. Sorry, but really not.

After playing this game since season 2 on various accounts, I have finally completely given up on League of Legends and I decided to create this post before I go, and why am I leaving? Not because of the terrible balancing, stupid decisions and ridiculous new kits, not even because of the absolutely atrocious matchmaking and terrible games that happen in season 8. No. I am leaving for the simple fact that this game has the worst community of players I've ever seen in any game in my entire life, and it has continued to get worse and worse as time goes on. Most of you should be ashamed of yourselves and should probably take a very serious look in the mirror. Not a single game goes by, win or lose nowadays, that isn't filled with toxicity, pointless anger and blame, people outright ruining the games for 4 other people, and basically sheer stupidity all around, and for what? I have yet to figure that out.. But goodbye, to all the terrible human beings that I'm ashamed to be the same species as, and good luck to any of the few respectable ones that continue to suffer through this disgrace.

P.S. This is not directed towards everyone, and by reading it, you know whether or not I'm referring to you, or you should.

Please get off your high horse buddy. You were most likely toxic at one point during your league 'career', if not more toxic than some of us here. Don't act like you're better than the rest of the community, because this posts just proves that you're not.

But still good luck in other games, you'll need it with that attitude..

In all sincere honestly from when I started (season 4) to now the community has certainly improved I think the last time I had a real toxic feeder was like 3 or 4 weeks ago or something and i have bout 700 ranked games this season.

The gameplay itself and version of the game it is in subliminally dictates the communities behaviour.

look at Path of Exile - i could go right in after a break of years ask questions get answers friend requests free shit or some guidelines to go by and maybe even run maps with someone together while cracking jokes and banters in whispers/globalchat.

look at League of Legends - i go in after years or months of break i´ve no more idea whats going on i ask questions i get told im silver dumb report pls leave , stop feeding - you talk too much - no banters no joke cracking no nothing just botlike behaviour.

So yes the OP has a point indeed but if the coregame is kinda shit atm , then its no surprise the community is bitter either. goes hand in hand.

Legit was just about to log on to the forums for the first time and post something like this. I haven't played nearly as long as you, so I can't speak for how toxic the community used to be, but compared to Overwatch LOL is horrible. I have no problem admitting I'm not good at the game, but I can't even learn how to play all the different roles because I get people who call me every name in the book just because I'm trying to learn a new support or new jungle champion and haven't yet gotten good at them. I don't even try ADC often because people are hateful no matter what I do. As a jungler I can carry and get yelled at, do ok and get cussed out, or do poorly and get spammed by pings. It doesn't matter. And that is in unranked blind pick... a game mode designed to learn new characters. I'm gonna have to say goodbye to a game I enjoy playing because I am tired of putting up with jerks who forget that this is just a game and that there are real people who they are talking to in chat.

Anyways, best of luck to op. I'll be leaving at least for a while as well since the community is intolerable. Really sucks because despite all the balance issues I love the game.

LoL is like a trash C-movie. The ones with the least Rotten Tomatoes score. You know what you will get when you launch this game. 8.5 years on the clock here. I settled down to only one-trick Bard and Ashe, the latter even less and less because of power creep.

But the community is funny, the reason why I even play: The dumbness, the predictable dictionary ("wtf???", "noooob", PING SPAM of "?"), all that.

I have been playing since season 2 as well. I haven't played the game in days and I am very much so enjoying myself and happy that my mental health is finally back on track. The game is just in a sorry and pathetic state. The Developers just want us, to yet again, to be patient and wait for them to work on the game. So much of this game just requires us to wait, be patient and have faith in the Developers. Unfortunately too little too late and they just keep making mistake after mistake and working on popular and new champions. They aren't even coming close to addressing toxicity and trolls in this game, which I do think is a reflection of the current state of the game.

I've played quite a while as well, but I have seen the chat toxicity go down but the gameplay toxicity go up.

It's a tough battle for riot. I know they don't like permabanning players because all it does is make those players more toxic because they're now angry about the permaban on top of whatever issues they had prior to the permaban which made them toxic in the first place.

I have to say though, I gave up ranked because ranked tended to have the most toxic players in it compared to normals and arams.
