I had someone add me after a game, that's fine I'm a nice girl. Then a couple days later he starts trying to talk me into buying him a skin. I tried to be nice about it, but after he kept pushing, I blocked him. I have only been playing for a few months, but is this a normal thing people do?
It's not normally common, no.
I've not seen this often... maybe two or three times. I block anyone who starts begging.
Some people are just creeps - gotta drop the block on 'em the moment they start getting weird.
This is exactly why I don't like adding random people that I don't know. It's nothing personal but I just like to get to know someone first before I add them as it helps weed out the ones who genuinely want to try to be my friend from those who only want to add me because they want something from me. Hopefully your future interactions with other players go better than this one did.
Lol that's happened to me before. I was like uhhh give ME one? Why would I just buy you a skin? Buy me one first and I'll buy you one. He kept trying to convince me "no, you go first and I promise I'll buy you one" lol like wtf? Why wouldn't you just buy it yourself then? I got the feeling he was a little kid, so I just removed him lol.
I definitely had a lot more random people wanting to add me when I was just getting started - probably because they were in the same situation and trying to get a decent friends list going. Some of them turned out to be really immature and toxic and I had to remove them. And I'd definitely remove anyone right away who gets really needy and pushy about it.
