How does the ban system really work?

So I got banned today for toxicity, and I certainly did deserve this ban. With roughly 493 question marks and some toxic, not deserved words towards the enemy team, I got banned for fourteen days. Though this brings up a question, why now?

About four or five months ago, before I took a two month break from League of Legends, I was quite toxic, enough to most likely earn myself a perma-ban. All of the cases where I was toxic I can remember being much worse than nearly five hundred question marks (the question marks are due to a trick with your keyboard, I don't script). So I was wondering if now it's reports stacking atop my account, or if it was just the time to do it.

So when I return in fourteen days I get to bring myself up from Dishonorable and get back to Honor 5!

what that graph isn't clear on (imho) is that after the 2 week ban you will be on very thin ice

at this point literally ANY sort of toxic behaviour ranging from outright harassment to report calling, to calling names, threatening to feed or not help your team, etc... will get you permad' without question or delay if you get reported for it

watch your step!

you can go down punishment tiers with time but it is not a set in stone ammount of time. it could be weeks. it could be months or even a year. it depends on how often you play and on the quality of your chat while you play. i have a strong suspicion that muting yourself isn't a shortcut!

Oh yeah, 0-12 stats before 20 min is hard to detect ;)

Actually not better than nothing, because it can lead to false punishments too. Some people genuinely have bad games that go that poorly.

Now, identifying players who are having such bad games so that some sort of action can be taken is a great idea, but I'm not sure punishment is the right action to take.

Some things I would be interested in seeing:

24-hour bans to stop the player from continuing to play (in case they are tilted, drunk, or stealing an account to ruin it's rank)
Popups or notifications to link the player to anger management resources
Immediately lowering the player's MMR significantly (this will solve the problem of people getting boosted)
Mark the player for manual review by a human working for Riot, with any of the above suggestions as possible outcomes.

Or they could be simply banned from ranked until they win like 3 normal games. That's enough for them to chill down and think about it.

(Even if they troll their next ranked game, the number of trolls In ranked would be 75% smaller AT LEAST)

As someone who plays primarily normals I completely disagree. I don't want your tilted ranked rejects coming in and flaming me and my teammates.

If they get a ban, make it from pvp entirely, or just the game overall. It can be 20 hours no problem, and if they do it again the next time that their ban is up then have someone review them and see if they need real punishment.

It really proves how good their system is. BTW I'm literally inting with another acc and didn't get punished any way. Soooo this kinda proves that inting is not punished.

I am not, I want to get that account banned. I would be a hypocrite if I was inting and was crying about not to get banned :)

So yes, I have an acc where I int approx. 1 of 2 or 3 games, and its still going well --> Rito doesn't fckin care about inters/trolls. And YES, I want that account banned, bc that would prove that Rito does something, yet they didn't do shit about it. See the problem? :)

Why are you trying to take over this thread ? Are you the OP ? Take your own problems to your own thread.

Beside this new trend I think Riot should check out your claim of inting on another account and if you are publicly ban you here.

Look we are discussing the fact, that Rito doesn't ban inters. This is a fact, at the second when I provide you information on the board they would just look at it, and ban the given account. And then brag about, that they did something.

So the only way for them to prove it, to take it down without any more information about it :) (But they wont, bc they don't care...)

BTW I don't really care about how big "influence" I have here, I just stated a fact. That's all.
