So I've heard that the percent of gamers in LoL is roughly 90% male with the remaining 10% female. I was wondering if Riot was doing anything to increase its female fans considering the amount of female gamers is growing. If the numbers are wrong, I stand corrected. Just something that I heard.

There are more female players than you'd expect. The issue is that too many of the male players freak out when they find out someone is female, either by harassing them for "not being good enough" or send them spam messages like "grill? GRILL?!" so they hide their identity. I dated a "girl gamer" and it was a constant problem for her. She chose an intentionally gender-neutral name so that nobody would assume her gender and harass her.
Is there any reason to?
