Did you report him? Because that's literally the only prerequisite to a review and a punishment. If you didn't report him, it's your fault he "got away".

The Tribunal's been dead for years. The current punishment system is the IFS (Instant Feedback System), an automated system that reviews reported players' matches and decides if it warrants a punishment. Which, as mentioned - the only prerequisite to a player's chat being reviewed and potentially punished is that you report them.

redniwediS1 votesPunishment tiers only go down if you play many games without getting a legitimate report filed against you. Could be this guy managed to get rightfully reported often enough to keep the tier from degrading, but not often enough to trigger a punishment for an entire year. It's unlikely but not impossible.
Either way Riot needs a better way for people to see their punishment tier progression.

In december most jobs make you work extra hours and you need the extra money for presents and to make up for short checks after the holidays. i play the game when i can. i got banned before that. i dont know how to get the exact date but if i find out i will. but thats irrelevant to this case. the last ban i deserved. i instigated and i traded a lot of insults with another player the whole game. i got banned i learned to not do that. but this one i didnt instigate if i find how to post the chat i would but idk how. like i said this has never been an issue the 4plus years i have played this game.

That's how. If you don't report someone, they won't get punished. If you're going to complain that someone else didn't get punished, and you didn't report them simply because you were satisfied with insulting them back, you are the one who let him go.

This shows how Riot's punishment system works. Unless you're trying to convince us that this permanent ban was completely out of the blue, which means the punishment system broke and you need to make a support ticket, you're not telling us the full/true story.

BlackZtar1 votesinsulting back. you are right not the right choice. but trading insults in any occassions both people are to blame not just 1. just like in a fight. i get people get mad when you dont gank but insulting them doesnt get any point across. i insulted afterwards, yeah not right, but i didnt start it or keep it going. i stopped it right there.

No, you got PUNISHED for RETALIATING. If you got a perma, you had a 14-day ban before meaning you didn't learn your lessen the first 3 times or you used slurs/invitation to self harm.
