My first ban after starting up League of Legends after a few months was a permaban.

I came back to League after a few months and was playing with some friends, saying some toxic things here and there because we had a full queue so nobody would get offended. They were talking in voice chat so it kind of seemed like I was talking to myself. I did use the N word about 2-3 times and f@g maybe once, along with other curse words like fuk and sht. After about 3 games, I was notified of a 14 day ban because of my recent behavior. I was a bit mad because it was so sudden, but I didn't really mind because looking back it seemed well deserved for my use of racial slurs. I relogged into League just incase and found that I had actually been permabanned somehow, which made no sense because it just said I had a 14 day ban a few minutes before. I found out later that my friends jokingly reported me because I stole their pentakill, and that most likely caused the ban. I already sent a support ticket to see if I could get my account back, but I'd just like to know if it's actually possible to recover my account because some people say Riot will never un-permaban someone. I've played League a few years on my account and I've never been banned for more than a week, and that was a couple years ago. I'd completely understood if I can't get my account back, but I've spent 100 bucks over the years and it would suck to lose it all. Thanks!

In the case of this, they may revert it back to a 14 day ban. I'm going to give two instances when something similar happened.

  1. Someone hit 14 then perma'd in one game. Same circumstance where game 1 triggered a 14 day ban but player was already in a new game. The new game triggers a perma. Riot did revert it back to a 14 day that way the player could have a chance to reform from that ban.

  2. A group of friends 'jokingly' reported their buddy and got him banned. Riot Tantram made a deal that everyone on hsi team who reported him for that game had to come on the forum and post to the topic requesting their report to be rescinded. They did and Riot undid the ban.

Here's the thing about Riot never overturning permabans. They state that they do not overturn bans issued by the Instant Feedback System; the quote below is taken directly from the Support page article "My Account is Suspended."

CAN MY SUSPENSION BE REMOVED? Suspensions due to the Instant Feedback System will not be lifted or shortened under any circumstance.

However, as Imperial Pandaa has mentioned, there are rare cases where Riot has been willing to revert a permaban back down to a 14 day suspension if the player was not given the chance to actually serve that punishment and show reform. One of the key factors in the reporting system is that players are reported when they are actively causing a negative game experience, whether that is through toxicity, trolling, feeding, cheating or various other methods. In order for a player to be punished by the Instant Feedback System, they have to be 1. reported for creating the negative experience and 2. have the report verified by something within the logs. In your case, the logs would verify that the Terms of Use were violated, but the reports only came in jest. And without them, there would have been no punishment issued, assuming that the things you typed were only typed into team chat, and not into all-chat.

It can't hurt to submit a ticket to Player Support; I would even link them the thread which contains the second case that Pandaa is mentioning. It shouldn't be too hard to find. I'll see if I can find the link for you if I get a minute. It was titled something like "permabanned after friends jokingly reported me."
