pointing out facts should not be reportable

It is absurd that you can get punished and even banned for saying anything remotely negative or even "not constructive."

Here is a 101 guide to what should and should not be reportable:

reportable:

  • you suck
  • you're an idiot
  • go afk
  • go kill yourself
  • any phrases including profane language used in a manner to degrade you

things that should not be reportable but still is:

  • you're feeding
  • you lost your lane
  • you're 0-6 *what a joke *GG

If you fucked up and go 0-6 in the first 10 minutes of the game, just own it. Don't tilt your team by making dumb excuses, blaming others, etc. Even if they aren't helping you (which is a valid concern), the fact of the matter remains the same: YOU DID LOSE YOUR LANE. How can you hope to improve your gameplay (or even win the current match) if you refuse to acknowledge your mistakes? It's absurd at how many people tilt off the planet when their team provides a mere tip (i.e. "stop overextending").

B-B-B-BUT SAYING "WHAT A JOKE" IS SOOOOOO NEGATIVE.

Actually?

Insults =/= Facts

"You're 0/6" is a fact.

"What a joke" is an insult, and is unnecessary, plus it will never improve your games.

What a joke is just a fancier way of calling somebody an idiot or waste of time.

the phrase to not be reportable should be: you're 0-6, please play a little safer or you're 0-6 dont talk - if they're saying stuff.

not what you said.

No offense, but the tone behind the words has impact as well. That is part of the reason "What a joke" is reportable. When you are talking to a teammate doing poorly and you say that, the majority of players would perceive that as a direct insult.

"What a Joke" is actually very negative. You're calling them a joke. As in, not something to be taken seriously. Even if they're new or having a bad game.

That's insanely rude.

I will never understand your mentality. If I am 0/6, do you think i do not know? Do you think that somehow you have the magical ability to see scores, and that you are the only one that has this ability?

Im going to guess no. At that point you wouldn't use it to encourage me to play better, you would use it to make me feel worse.

If you write "You are 0/6, could you try to play a bit safer?", that is ok, since you used my score to as a jumping off point to try prove your point about playing safer.

You can give constructive feedback without coming off as a jerk about it. Many people perceive "what a joke" as negative because it's often used in a negative/demeaning manner.

I say negative things all the time, and I hardly get punished. I just don't go down the deep end, and I'm not 100% negative.
