Does anybody else feel like the low-priority que is way too strict now? I got disconnected when the power in my house blew for a moment. I logged back on, everyone was 6-7 and I was still 2, I played the remainder of the match only missing 5 minutes at the beginning, but after the match I got a 20 minute low priority restriction. How is that even fair? I only disconnected once.
SmokedAlmonds7 votesYou did not get a 20 min low priority queue for leaving 1 game. You got it for your entire leaving history(which should have included at least 2 other lesser punishments and a warning).
There is leniency built in because everyone is going to have occasional issues. Its just that you are way past using it up.

I wouldn't be surprised if it goes back to the begining. But time is not a factor in the system. Its about the percentage of your games that you leave. So if you left a game months ago and didn't play and left a game now that would be no different than playing 2 games today and leaving them both.

And despite all of that, why would I get a leaver penalty for only being gone for a few minutes? Shouldn't the penalties be dished out to people who are going for most of the match?
Penalties are dished out to people who leave games. It doesn't take long for a game to be completely thrown. Even a few seconds at an inopportune time can lose a game.

A few minutes can often mean the difference between victory and defeat depending on the state of the game at that moment in time. It doesn't matter how long you're gone for as you're still putting your team at a 4v5, 2v3 or 5v6 (depending on the map and/or mode) disadvantage during that time that you're gone.
Also I agree with OhBoyItsaMegaman in that something doesn't add up here, so that means that either this is pure coincidence that this happened or that there's more to the story that you're not telling us here, and I'm guessing that it's the latter there most likely honestly.
