A draven player was talking a lot of trash and getting extremely mad over a normal game. I didn't say any racial, or homophobic slurs, and I didn't curse, or threaten him. This was the only chat log that riot provided.

Depends on how many restrictions he has already had recently. Very few things jump straight to perma banned. However if you are not correcting your behavior, doing the same toxic thing over and over. That's eventually going to get you perma banned.

No, it's not. I went through all tiers. But one chat log that's this harmless shouldn't dictate whether or not somebody gets banned. I didn't break summoner code. I made somebody upset by pointing out the fact that they lost to a support Varus. Like??

This log shows you harassing your ADC. Therefore yes it is in violation of the summoner code.

The last rung (the one from 2 week ban to permanent ban) is the easiest one to climb. After your two week ban, if you still don't get the point, then you never will.

He was being rude at most. This is not a permaban offense. There is little to no profanity, no spam, no rage, no caps, and no threats. This is not a bannable offense. This is minor rudeness at most. Here it is easier to show you through an example. This is an example of actual toxicity, which includes all the things I mentioned.

You see the difference? You can act blind all you want, but there is a clear difference, all of which I have stated above. I don't know why the boards community is so intellectually dishonest. Its not like this anywhere else. It must be because the boards community is very small, and so its a breeding ground for SJWs who want to hide in a small group so that they can avoid getting criticized on their bad logic. This is clearly not worth a ban, much less a permaban. As I've explained, he was rude at most. Telling someone they lost to support varus is rude at most. There is little to no profanity, no spam, no rage, no caps, and no threats. This is not even a bannable offense much less a permaban.

Being the slightest bit rude does not immediately constitute a ban. The rules are vague and so it requires the use of common sense. Take for example the word "fuck". That's rude and inappropriate language, but it does not mean you should get banned the second you type it in chat. You need to know where to draw the line including if something should even be punished, like in the example of "fuck". That's technically "rude" language, but that is not a ban at all, without even looking at it twice. You need to use human judgement and common sense. There is little to no profanity, no spam, no rage, no caps, and no threats. This is not a bannable offense much less a permaban.

Like you said, using the word "fuck" doesn't automatically constitute a permaban. Likewise, you don't need to use profanity to harass your teammates, which is against the Summoner's Code. Harassing your own team shouldn't be tolerated in any game.

So I ignored your entire post after the first sentence. The reason the punishment is a permanent ban is because he is a repeat offender. It has nothing to do with your opinion of how rude he was. He is in violation of the code and therefore has subjected himself to punishment. Since he has already received a 10 game chat ban, then a 25 game chat ban, then a 2 week suspension and he is still not changing his behavior, the next step is a permanent ban.

That is all there is to it.

It doesn't matter if someone was toxic repeatedly. You do not ban them for something that is not even worth a ban, much less a permaban. Just because you were toxic before, the same rules still applies to you. You don't get permabanned for something that is not worth even a simple ban.

I'm glad you decided to be a bit more succinct. The problem with your reply is that you stated (correctly, in my opinion), that the way you 'think and feel' about a given situation is irrelevant. However I must remind you that you oppose the ban based on your feelings that this is not ban worthy. That is an opinion and therefore, by your own rules, irrelevant.

It'd be nice if you're gonna tell people how to hold a conversation, if you were to follow your own advice.

This is someone else's chatlog. It is not in any way relevant to the OP's case. In the OP's actual chatlog, we see him harassing his AD carry, which is why he was reported and punished.

  • No raging You made them feel bad about losing to Varus supp by telling them they lost to Varus supp, but that's basically all. This is not a permaban offense. I don't even see how this should even be a ban at all. I mean most of this looks like you are actually responding to them instead, yet you don't rage at them. Still harsh, but definitely not rage. Look at the big difference. Being a litlle rude/harsh is not bannable, much less permabannable. I don't know how you are not seeing this. The rules are vague so you can say a lot of things fall under rude or inappropriate. Saying "fuck". That's "inappropriate/rude" language right? Does this mean if you say "fuck" you immediately get banned. Vague rules require the use of common sense. You also need to draw the line as to how harsh a punishment is, if it even needs to be punished, as I've shown in the example of "fuck" where no punishment should be given at all. It's a rule about the use of language. Of course profanity and caps are a factor, though that's not all. There's no rage and spamming, and there are no threats. This is summed up to telling someone that its bad that they lost to Varus supp, and then the two guys taking shots at each other over the at least 20 minute time frame, like: Timeless: Ur losing to support varus lol ... There's no:

  • constantly harassing someone and berating them every time they died. Like: Timeless: ? Timeless: ? Timeless: ? Timeless: You died again. Do you only know how to feed??? spams pings Timeless: STOP FEEDING. FUCKING TRASH (repeated every time they die)

  • no constant throws of insult for every mistake that was made Timeless: Ahahaha! Nice flash Timeless: You've never hit a single skillshot. Learn how to play the game. Fucking Trash. (repeated for every mistake)

  • no threats Timeless: You're a braindead scumfuck failed abortion that should be gunned down on the street, and then hit by oncoming traffic. Timeless: Go drink bleach and kill yourself. Your parents don't love you.

The absence of all of these does not make it the same thing, but with the additional label of "a white collared" crime. These are all factors on whether or not it should even be punished/how harsh the punishment is.

  • Profanity/Caps vs No Profanity/Caps
  • Threats vs No Threats
  • Rage (a spam of insults after losing control of emotions) vs No Rage
  • Harassment for every mistake vs No harassment for every mistake
  • Spam vs No spam

If you think that not having each of these things are no different from having it, (i.e. The left side of "vs" is exactly the same as the right side/There is no relevant difference between the two sides) then I don't know what to do with you, because I think this concept is so elementary that the most I can do is give you an example and point to you specifically where this occurs or tell you what this basic idea is, which I think is common sense. ( i.e. The absence of something != Having something, a + 1 = a + 1, while a + 0 = a != a + 1) It'd be very difficult if not impossible to prove it to you with much more elementary facts, and frankly, when it is as elementary as this, I think you'd have to willfully act blind not to see it.

It's a matter of "Is this worth a punishment?"

The answer is yes. And since you just had your two weeks the next step is a permaban. You're more then welcome to message Riot Support if you feel it was unjust, but don't get your hopes up.

But hey, let's get to the bottom of that: How long would anybody have to stay unbanned while using chat for you to retract that statement? Like, what's in your opinion the maximum timespan (or amount of games) while using chat that one can go without being banned?

Making a statement so vague it cannot possibly be disproven doesn't make you clever. It just means that statement is entirely moot to any discussion.

And if you have the slightest bit of empathy that will happens o rarely that it will not trigger a punishment, because a single instance of typing a single keyword or keyphrase is not going to get you banned. But you're avoiding my question: How long at max do you think it will take for people to get banned? Because currently what you are stating is not a fact, because it's neither provable nor disprovable because it's too vague.

If I were to show you a time traveler with one billion accounts, that has cumultatively used chat for 14 quadrillion years without ever being punished and you could still just say "keep it up. you will see.", because your statement has no qualitative content. You're not saying anything. You're just being ominous. Even the examples you give (the "light banter", and the "most mild kid-safe trash talk") are left as vague anecdotes that nobody can actually verify.

In your mind, you might be stating a fact, but in reality you are just making claims without any facts supporting them.

No, but everybody with enough knowledge of statistics can give you an average time between the same person being hit by a lightning strike... which in this case is easily more than a lifetime, which in turn would mean the fear of getting hit by a lightning strike would be considered unreasonable.

The same thing applies to what you said. If what you say is true (which I still doubt) then one could equally determine a rough time between being hit by two bans merely for using the chat feature, and by that determine whether your statement is actually even relevant, or whether it's more likely to get struck by lightning.

Personally, I'm more afraid of getting struck by lightning (which isn't very much) than getting banned for using chat.

The easiest way to tell if your chat log deserved a ban or not is to ask yourself "Did I get banned for the chat logs they sent me?" If the answer is "Yes, I did." Then the chat logs deserved a ban.

"Varus Support" was constantly mentioned as a way to demean your teammate... You don't understand why you were banned for harassing a teammate throughout the entire match? If you had mentioned it once, I'd be like "ok you lost your cool for a second but you pulled it together"... No, you just hammered your teammate.

Quite honestly you're the reason diamond is toxic and you earned yourself a 100% justified ban.
