How can we improve the LP lost for a team that has an afk?

I just got Demoted for my jg leaving the game because my mid was being toxic. now from what i saw the jg just watch me die and i was pretty heated i ping the hell out of my jg as well did the mid laner. the jg explained that he lag this did not stop the pings from my mid. idk if he did or did not lag but that fight put us even futher behind. but i felt like we had a chance however the JG just starts trolling and long story short leaves costing me a rank. is there a way to try and give back LP if lost do to toxic players that cant be abused?

I mean how do you know he RQ? you did say he was explaining his lag, maybe he legitimately left to restart his router? I do it all the time.

Don't agree entirely. Someone can only leave x number of games before he gets punished. So a teammate intentionally leaving the game, to reduce lp loss for others, would only work a small amount of times. Plus, no one is generous enough to leave to reduce lp loss for others (and if premades wouldn't get reduced lp loss for their premade leaving, that won't be a problem either).

They already do, it’s called Leavebuster.

How is this any different then the current system we have then or are you saying that if the leaver triggers leavebuster you should get your LP refunded? Because I’m that case, you will see that LP refund every one leaver out of like 500

Leavebuster seems like the way to solve the problem is what I meant to say, so a system where people lose less lp if they lose the match with an afk/quitter could be implemented.

The problem is that to reduce the lp losses, you wpuld also have to reduce the lp gains for the winning team.

You could easily either make a penalty for the leaver and have him lose more lp, or have the winning team win a little less lp to make up for the smaller loss the losing team has. If the remaining 4 teammates all lose for example 5 lp less, the winning team only hand in 4 lp each, which seems reasonable because they won a game 4v5.
