Hello, so I got chat banned for 10 games for a not so good reason. This means that I am ineligible to earn loot due to previous behavioral restrictions. I don't think I have never been banned / muted previously, this was my first time. (I will post the chat log down under.) I think it is really stupid that Riot punishes those whom are chat banned for once, and by making it so that you are never ever again able to earn loot. Am I the only one who thinks that this is just utterly stupid? Ok, I understand that I got muted, because a player online got insulted for my actions. The funniest part to this story is that I had 0/3 stats as Jhin and my teammates were 1/6, 1/5 and so forth. They flamed me and I didn't flame them back. I basically said bot is GG because the enemy adc got a triple kill which lead him to be 3/0 and 30cs ahead of me. I also stood still as Jhin, because hecarim ganked me from behind and I had no summoners, which basically means that I am dead. I did not flame our Lee Sin, I just addressed that my win percentage is really low when I have a Lee in my team. I basically just said that it is a curse that has been laid upon me. Anyway, my current rank is plat 2 and this happened a few days ago. I have suffered the 10 game penalty, which in my honest opinion was not rightfully given to me in the first place. I understand that I was acting a bit unsportsmanlike, by saying "gg" at around 10 minute mark or a bit earlier if I recall correctly, but I was not the only one that was thinking that way. I am not asking for forgiveness from Riot, because they have their rules and standards which they are following. I am just simply asking, why the system is how it in it's current state is. Also, I am not sure how this works, but I am pretty sure I can't take part in the hextech crafting category any more, correct me if I am wrong. You can start earning Hextech loot again. It'll take you something like 35 games of showing you've improved your behavior. Continue the negative behavior and you'll end up getting punished again and be ineligible even longer, but play your games and not contribute to a negative environment and you'll earn loot again in no time.

Oh, alright. Thank you for your comment. I am extremely rarely toxic or flame people, honestly. I know most people who have gotten a chat restriction will say this, but I mean it. Do you have an opinion whether my restriction was justified? I don't believe I was toxic or insulted anybody with those things that I said.

Concerning your punishment, the reason the chat shown here is punishable is, well, because you are being very negative right off the bat. Nobody wants a player that is convinced the game is unwinnable, because even if you try as hard as you can the impression will be that you aren't trying at all anymore. You even resorted to threatening a player with reports, and were bashing the Lee Sin simply for picking it.

Yeah, I understand you opinion. But the thing was I was not the only one who was frustrated and thought the way I did. And yes, because darius was saying that he is reporting me so I said I am reporting him, because he died intentionally. And I totally understand what you're saying about the lee sin comment, but I did not mean to "insult" him. As I addressed it's just my luck no matter how good or how bad a lee sin in my team is I end up losing those games unfortunately.

How do you think the Lee Sin feels? Nobody deserves to get bashed for playing the champion they like (he has a 56% win rate on Lee btw). I doubt you'd feel good if your teammates were telling you they are going to lose because you made a shitty pick. It might not be meant as an insult, but it still creates a negative environment so they enjoy the match less or not at all, and probably will perform worse as a result (kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy).

As for telling people you're going to report them, just ignore them. False reports won't hurt you, but threatening with reports is considered harassment and is punishable itself. All it really serves to do is make you both mad at each other and validates a verbal abuse report against you both.

Yeah, I see your point of view totally. I know I did wrong and probably made the lee feel bad. But still I am not convinced that I should have been banned, considering my other teammates were threatening me with reports and all that also. And I basically also said that I myself am an idiot for picking Jhin in that occasion. The intention was never to hurt lee sin's feelings, but to address that I've had bad experience with a lee in my team. I guess I spoke about it in the wrong way. Anyway, I've learned a lot of your comments and thoughts.

First of all it is not forever like you mentioned.

Second, to earn crafting loot is a reward for good behaviour, if you want that again you have to at least be neutral in your games.

The penalty isn't permanent. Be positive for 10-20 games and you'll be able to use hextech again. It's not a set number of games but if you have X games where you don't act negative the system considers you reformed. Just say nothing but "gg" "wp" and "gj" and you'll be back to crafting in no time.

P.S. punishments are rarely handed out because of one game. Chances are you were punished because of negative behavior over quite a few games. Did they only give you chat logs from one game?

As I said in my earlier comment, I tend not to flame or be toxic or whatever the term is for such action. I am usually neutral, I don't bm ppl in all chat or stuff like that, sometimes my typing gets out of hand, but it's not that I would go full keyboard warrior flame type, but just getting a bit too excited and maybe it is considered as chat spamming even tho it's nothing negative. Nevertheless thanks for the reply :).

well, you mean window the game and click alittle bit here and there for that many matches. there is absolutely no point in trying to do WELL when not rewarded for it while everything else is. But that's interesting that it isn't permanent (if you're not trolling/lying). I have no idea how int he world they expect anybody to stick aorund long enough to realize that to begin with. That's plain asinine.

So there was no point to playing well before hextech crafting? You play the game because you enjoy it. Hextech crafting is just a bonus that Riot gives to postive players rather than some other reward. In the past Riot would say thank you in some other way like a free skin or an icon. Hextech is a much more constant reminder that your actions can get you free stuff.

Riot has brought this up at least a dozen times in a dozen different formats (forums, reddit, announcements, etc) so its pretty easy to figure out the penalty isn't permanent.

It's not "never ever again able to earn loot" though. It's show improvement/just don't rage and eventually you'll regain the ability to earn loot. Not a certain time, not a certain # of games, but eventually.

It wouldn't be a punishment if people knew when it would end.
