hi, im a fellow summoner who recently has been banned from playing League of Legends for 14 days. i played a game with my friend and we were just trolling. In fact, everyone was trolling and we were all being toxic. So i got 14 days banned. Honestly, i probably deserves that but what I don't understand is that I skipped a level in punishment. I looked it up and there are four steps to ban phase: 10 game chat restriction, 25 game chat restriction, 14 days ban, and perma ban. Well I was at 10 game restriction few months back but I have never been in 25 game chat restriction. It seems to me that I skipped a ban phase. riot explain please????

Different offenses will result in different punishments. For example, if you're constantly using profanity in chat, you'll move up the ladder of punishments one by one. But if you include racist/homophobic language in your chat messages, that will likely escalate you directly to a 14-day ban. Other more serious offenses will also usually escalate you to a 14-day ban (for example, intentional feeding). I'd advise you to post your chat logs so a moderator can give you more information on why you received your ban.

They aren't just words to victims of hate crimes. They're rallying cries for hate and violence.

People shouldn't need to put up with that sort of shit while they're playing a video game.

No, but depending on the circumstances, I may take action. If you're looking for a job, I'm not hiring you. If you're in my office, I'm asking you to leave. If we're at a bar together, I'm avoiding you, and if you follow me, I'm getting the bouncer involved. If you're a client, I'm rethinking whether or not your business is worth my time.

Hate speech is fucked up. It's easy to shake it off if you're not a minority, or if you've never witnessed the ugly bared face of racism and homophobia. But for many, it's AT BEST extremely uncomfortable to be subjected to. It has no place in polite society, and more and more video game communities are doing their best to emulate those standards. This isn't the early 2000s, where rage-fueled preteens could spew racist shit over Xbox Live without consequence. You're actually expected to behave in a reasonably adult fashion now.

Now I understand why I skipped a ban phase. Next time I will be perma banned. But my question is if I perform a good behavior, will my ban streaks reset??? and how long do I have to be reformed?

It's good you realize this, after the 14-day ban your account is on very thin ice.

It takes months, but you can eventually lower your punishment level.

the best answer is probably always, I don't know how much time or money you've spent on your account but I can't imagine you'd want to throw it all away simply because you felt like insulting some people, using racial or homophobic slurs, etc. I just wouldn't risk it.

It takes roughly 3 months of consistant, clean playing to drop a tier. After a 2-week ban, that's about 9 months to fully clear all tiers.

As for joking with friends... you need to to be sure about them, because even a 'joke' report counts if there is something report-worthy. And if there is even one random person on your team, you'll want to keep your chat clean because they probably won't see the joke.
