New Players and Toxicity
I played League several years ago back in college and only recently picked it back up. It feels like a completely new game now and I'm essentially what you would call a "noob." Never has the community of a game made me want to never do this again more. And I've played COD online, folks! The trash talking of people is just sad and unfortunately reflects the illusion of being able to talk differently online than you would a person. If I'm out playing football or basketball or any other sport and I do not fully understand gameplay yet, most of the more knowledgeable players will simply say just keep at it or give pointers. Not in League of Legends. God forbid you actually be someone new to this game. There are so many people with multiple accounts who already know their way around this game who are simply playing us "noobs" because it's easy. And then when they get one of us on their team we are ridiculed into never wanting to touch this game again. The whole point of a game is for it to be entertaining. You are still you, even on the internet. And those you are talking to are people too. I didn't grow up being taught it was okay to treat strangers like that. The Golden Rule my friends.
