no, it won't get you punished.

I've seen in many posts that simple configuration changes aren't bannable. I have my attack-click-move bound to my left mouse button. However, I think you need to modify the input.ini section in persistedsettings.json in order for the changes to take effect. Mine were originally in input.ini but once they moved to server-side stored settings, I had to move them.

I have a friend who did this a year ago, and he's still playing. Not sure how to do it, though.

It should be fine unless you're doing something strange. Be aware of the hot topic of the Singed Support not communicating well enough with his teams on his intentions since he took Smite and counter jungled level 1.

Modifying RIOT's intended code is "at your own risk".

Their policy is such that modifying the game or using a program that changes the game for cosmetic effect ONLY falls under their rule of "not gaining a competitive advantage". If however, they feel that you've gained any competitive advantage, no matter how slight, then you will likely have a problem.

My thought is to submit a support ticket and explain exactly the modification you wish to perform and state it's intended purpose. Many times they won't tell you if a particular thing is or isn't acceptable but in this case they might if you go up enough levels of customer service.

Not that I'm aware of. Just make sure to make use of that advanced ping feature to communicate with your team to help you win.

Comparing to how it started (only the basic ping was available at first), League has come a far way to communicate without chat.

You have 5 different pings, you can link timers and cooldowns, you can link an enemies summoner spell to say it's down, and you can link items or how much more gold it will be before you can afford it. You can even link your own ping to say that you're currently lagging.

You could also just not chat lol

While this might seem like a good way to handle the issue i don't think it would work long term.

My reasoning is. If you cannot control yourself from typing you won't be able to control other actions in game which will just as likely get you banned.

I hope you find a answer to this. I do not believe making it so enter doesn't work will get you banned I can say any modification of the client can possibly set off a red flag.
